Today's stupid observation

Until 4 years ago I only had male doctors.  I got a PCP today and now every last doc is a woman- PCP, OB/GYN, dentist, eye doc, all women.

Re: Today's stupid observation

  • Girl power!   :)
I'm on the hunt for a new PCP and am leaning towards a female.  I love my female OB/GYN.   I'm sorry, but there are some things that men will never fully understand.

  • I'm all lady too. I personally could never have a male OB/GYN.

i never really cared. the practice has made more of a difference in my life for my ob/gyn than the gender of the doctor.
  • I'm more comfortable with a female OBGYN, but the others I don't care about.
  • I really don't care about gender for any of them.  I've been happy with my past male OBGYNs, but I just love this woman in particular.  I'm not a fan of the other woman in the practice and would rather have one of the guys.  The eye doc is kind of because she's my sister, but I also just like her manner better than her husband.
  • I actually prefer a male OB/GYN. Maybe it's because the worst, most painful, presumptuous pelvic exams have been with women. Like I should automatically feel comfortable being a puppet because the doc is one of the sisterhood? Leave "aww, i know how you must feel" feeeeeeeewings out of the exam room, I'll tell the doc exactly how I feel. Gimme facts, gimme clinical opinion, help me with informed consent and i'm in charge of the decision and its impact...any other doc and it's pretty much whoever works.

  • I have a female OB/GYN and love her. I don't think I'd feel comfortable with a male doctor all up in my hoohah.
