More on 5 minute cake

I tried it again today, this time omitting the egg and adding an extra tbsp of milk. It did not rise as much, but it's both more moist and more fudgey. Excellent for those (hmo) who don't want to eat or throw away the leftover egg. And, it saves even more time and more dishes. Recommend.

So, official recipe:
4 tbsp:
Flour
Sugar
Milk

3 tbsp:
vegetable oil
chocolate chips

2 tbsp:
cocoa powder

and a dash of vanilla.

Microwave on high for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Devour.
Total cook time: 5 minutes.
Total dirtied dishes: a mug, a tablespoon, and a fork.

I used applesauce b/c I didn't have oil.  It turned out rubbery...or maybe microwaving made it rubbery.

I disagree on the whole cake. I need instant gratification, and 3 tiny dishes that I can just throw in the the dishwasher. Also a whole cake won't last too much longer in my house than a mug cake would, so I'm saving myself a lot of calories.

I'd still rather make a whole cake.

And 3 T of oil?  That seems like a lot no?

I use 3 Tbsp. milk instead of 4 and microwave for 3 minutes. I use a combo of semi-sweet and white chocolate chips.

    Mine have alwasy been rubbery...
    but this version of bread-pudding?
    HEAVEN.

I made it the other night and put pumpkin ice-cream on top of warm bread pudding and just died and heard angels sing.
