Online lovers??

Ok so from another poll I am kind of stealing this... but I was interested how many Knotties have met their husbands-to-be online??

I will start.... ME! We met on Match.com! :)

We were originally matched on eHarmony, but didn't meet.  Three months later we were matched on Chemistry and have been together ever since.

We met through eHarmony - best thing I ever did! :-)  Because of his working nights and our introverted personalities we never would have met otherwise.

FI and I met on OkCupid.  I had grown tired of paying on sites like Match & eHarmony especially since I was running into jerks on eHarmony even.

"I like you and wouldn't mind still dating...but you have to be OK with having a physical relationship with me and me having the same with the other women I'm dating."  According to him, he had NO idea that eHarmony was supposed to be for people looking for serious relationships and not just casual/booty call.

SO glad I finally met FI shortly thereafter and didn't have to deal with any more frogs!

We met on okcupid too! I tried to get her to go to a show for a band that we both listed as our favorite music. She already had tickets and was going for her sister's birthday. Thankfully she thought I was at least non-repulsive enough to try going out with me a couple of times later.

We kept our profiles around for posterity but deleted them once we got engaged. I sort of wish we still had them around for the lolz.

tvgal: I think the idea of being matched w/ the same person through different sites is pretty hilarious. Glad it worked the 2nd time!

niq24601 - I should have added that I had a "feeling" the very first time we were matched on eHarmony.  I had just started seeing someone so I put FI on hold when we were matched the first time.  He was too impatient and closed me.  When we were later matched on Chemistry...I thought, hey here's that guy again!!!  I was dating a dud that I had wanted to break up with.  So, I broke up with the dud on Thursday and answered FI's questions on Friday.

As for keeping our profiles around...we deleted them a long time ago, but I print screened them before we ended our memberships so I can still see some of our early communication!

FI and I connected through Myspace (haha). We went to the same high school, he was a senior when I was a freshman. So of course I knew who he was, but he didn't know me! He said he liked that I was wearing a Seahawk sweatshirt in one of my pictures and thats why he decided to ask me out. Glad he did though! :)

    Hahah! This is great.

FI and I met on craigslist, and it was a post that I had put up in STRICTLY PLATONIC! I wanted friends only and when we were friends, a lot of what we talked about was how much we loved being single and all of our shitty ex's! Pretty ironic looking back. :-)

One of the things I love about us meeting on craigslist is that he had been paying for all of those other sites like eharmony, etc and then he went and found me for FREE! hahah.

my bio has a more detailed story of how we met.

We met long before there were online dating sites and oddly, didn't even plan to meet anyone online.

This is one for the total geeks out there, but we met in an IRC room dedicated to Asian pop music. He let me download gigabytes worth of music and videos with my 28.8 dialup modem speeds off his ultra fast cable connection.

We met 8 months ago online. have never seen each other, but we talk daily for hours about everything.  he proposed yesterday.  will be here thanksgiving weekend and we are planning a 1/1/11 wedding.  We are 56 (me) and 62 (him).  We feel why waste time.  We know what we want.  We believe we've found it in each other.  We love the idea that falling in love with our spirits rather than our physical selves makes our romance so much more special.  (Yes, we both have photos and hope to be skype-ing soon)  He needs a new puter.
