Sorry for being MIA

I don't know if any of you remember, but in March I had surgery on my shoulder, which ended up going really well. The recovery process has sucked big time and I'm doing physical therapy indefinitely right now.  The only major wedding impact it has had is my wedding ring.  We had to buy a "fake" ring because the swelling in my fingers changes day to day so we didn't want to spend a lot of money on my real ring when we don't know what size my finger will be that day.  It's bittersweet to have to do that, but I'd rather do that than have a ring that won't go on my finger during the wedding.

I have lurked a little bit here and there and it seems like everyones wedding plans seem to be coming together.  So what else has been up around here. I've missed knotting!

  • Glad to hear your surgery was a success, although physical therapy sounds like a real pain! How are your WR plans coming, otherwise (other than ring issues)?

  • Yes, I remember!!! I hope you're feeling better now. Will your fingers eventually stop swelling up and you can wear an actual ring??

  • There you are!

Glad to hear the surgery went well!

I would probably be doing the same thing regarding your wedding band, too.  My SIL did the same thing when she got preggo so she could still wear a ring even though it wasn't the "real" wedding band.

  • Of course I remember!! So glad the surgery went well! How are your plans coming along???
  • Thanks everyone! Plans are coming along great. I think the only thing I have left are the little details which FI has been very involved with planning so he's been helping a lot with that.  I have a meeting with the people who do linens and chair covers in two weeks so I'm really excited for everything to start coming together.

They told me the swelling could last 6 months to a year from the surgery so once it starts settling more we will be able to tell what size my finger ends up and get my actual ring.  Right now it could be perfectly normal one day like size 6.5 and the next closer to an 8 so that is a bummer.

I have missed all of you girls! How is the planning going for you guys?
  • missed you Jen!!!! Glad things are going well! Bummer about the ring, but its better that way =)  Speedy receovery!

Plans are great! Finishing up invites this week and putting them in the mail next week!!! EEK!!!

Maybe having surgery is the secret to getting my FI more involved with the details! J/k I'm sorry you had to have surgery.
