Went to NE for BIL's HS graduation. Arrived at the end of the party on Friday night. The ILs knew we couldn't make it bc it's been finals week for us. MY brother graduates next weekend, his party is on a Saturday. MIL thinks it's only fair we skip his party because we skipped BIL's.
For Mothers day, we got both our moms similar gifts. After we bought the gifts, my Mom decided what she "wanted" was for us to come over and help her put in a brick sidewalk. MIL asked "so what are you going to do for me that's equal to building a sidewalk for her? The house needs a new roof." (H used to work as a roofer in the summers- flat, industrial roofs only).
The graduation itself was for 26 kids, 9 shared our last name. The speech by the president referred to liberalism as one of the great sins of our times, and focused on Terri Schiavo and death panels. 2 graduating couples announced their engagement.
No diagnosis on Grandpa yet, MIL and her sister have been draining the fluid off of his lungs at home, MIL said she would call hospice on Monday, but when I asked what Grandpa had to say about that, she hadn't talked to him about it. She's just telling everyone.
I did not engage the crazy and talk to MIL about the thieving. Too much other stuff going on with the grad and grandpa that we put it off until she wants to visit again.
