Golden Gardens

Does anybody have any experience or more information about Golden Gardens Bathhouse in Ballard?

I am trying to find a venue for next summer similar to this. 150 guests.. bring own food.. not too expensive. I like the outdoor option, but want to be able to have the reception inside. I have  yet to find someone who has actually been to the park though.

If you're talking about the Bathhouse there, I considered it a couple years ago when I was looking. It is cute right next to the water, but  apparently does not fit 150 at tables so you'd have to have chairs on the sides or outside (picnic blankets?) if you want to fit that amount. Also, it is very popular in the summer. The weekend I looked at it, it was very hard to find parking and there were people playing volleyball on the sand in front as well as the other many beach going people. If you look at the Seattle Parks Website, you'll likely find the info regarding rental. They may require you to hire parks people to monitor over a certain guest count.

I was there about 3 weeks ago. Beautiful location, but small. Once the tables were all set up (there was 150 guest) there was no room for a dance floor and it was really right walking around.

The wedding was on a day that it just happened to be 75, so parking was a horrible. The poor bartender had to get a ride back to his car after the wedding, he was parked a mile away!

Other then the parking and size, the place is perfect though. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I am getting married there.  I think the park and bathhouse are both beautiful, but all DIY.  As pp said, parking can be difficult on a summer day, but I've alwasy been able to find parking.  But its too small to comfortably fit 150 and have a dance floor and anything else in the main room.  I think it says the capacity is for 200, but that must be for standing room only.  Some of my vendors mentioned they'd seen weddings for about 140 and that all the food had to be in the kitchen room and it was still pretty tight.  We're expecting about 75 guests.

Thank you. I guess one of my biggest concerns is the public crowd on a summer day. As well as size. We may opt for a cocktail reception though. And maybe think about a different time of year.

I didn't think choosing a venue would be so hard. We've been engaged for almost a year. Started looking for this summer and decided to postpone another year when we found out I was pregnant.

I guess the best thing would be to go check out the location myself.
