Wedding Woes

Another co-sleeping related post

When I was growing up, my Grandmother lived with us every summer.    Because it was just a few months out of the year, and because we didn't have an extra bedroom or bed, we shared a bed.   The only downside of this is that my grandma snored, and I would kick her to get her to stop.   My grandma was awesome and never complained.
Once I was an adult and realized what a brat I had been, I apologized to her.  :)

Re: Another co-sleeping related post

  • I cannot picture my Grandmother sharing  a bed with anyone other than her husband. She is too much of a diva to share with a mere child, even if they are her flesh and blood.

    ..
  • This is a woman who grew up in Appalachia and probably had to share a bed during her entire childhood.   So to her it was no big deal.
Now, I can't imagine making my mom do that.
  • My grandma slept on the couch. Even in her own home, which had 4 bedrooms. My grandfather had a severe stroke and she just... got used to sleeping out on the couch. She liked to watch Leno, so it all worked out. Anyway, we didn't have a guest room either, so she had the option of sleeping on my brother's bottom bunk bed or in the living room.
