Wedding Woes

Friend #2

Her husband needs a junkpunch too.

Friend and her husband both lost their jobs within 3 months of each other.:(

Friend found a job first, and her dh is still unemployed. DH is depressed and acting an ass.

Example#1: Their son is in Boys Scouts, and needed a few supplies for a weekend camp he was going to. Friend's dh was suppose to run to the store to pick up said supplies. Friend gets home around 6, and NO SUPPLIES. Friend is po'ed and has to stop at Target on the way to dropping off kid to the event.

Example #2: DH refuses to wash a dish or clothes and expects my friend to do it when she gets home. Needless to say, my friend is about done with him and ran away to my house for a few hours this weekend to get away.

I don't complain about being single, NO MORE.

Re: Friend #2

  • My guess is that he didn't do Target runs, dishes or laundry before he lost his job either.

  • nola, apparently you are single because the 4 men left in the world are already spoken for by your friends.
  • the key is to marry a guy who isn't an ass.

DK was unemployed a few times during our marriage, and despite being depressed about being out of work, he made sure to work his ass off at home so he was still "contributing"

i'm betting her H woud be doing this exactly the same if employed - but would use the job as an excuse.
  • Zilla, I agree.:)

The Lord knows my nerves couldn't handle this foolishness.

  • Oh Nola, talk about dodging a bullet.

I have no idea what H would do, I'd say he'd have a new appreciation for what I do on a daily/weekly basis.  But who knows.

  • When I was laid off, I was seriously depressed and I didn't even get out of bed some days.  DH would try to get me up or be irritated about it or what I didn't do at home to contribute and it didn't matter to me.  It took me awhile to get it out of my system, but I dragged myself out b/c I was irritated with myself finally.

I guess what I'm saying I'm not all thumbs up for this dude, I can empathize with what he's going through.  I expect it's more she expects him to do X and he's not doing anything period.  You not doing something doesn't necessarily mean you expect the other person to do it...you just don't GAF overall if it's done or not.

I don't really know how DH got through it, b/c I was too self-absorbed to ask.
  • And you are complaining about your FRIENDS peice of crap husband because?

  • Sugar, that's what we do here. We discuss random topics, and this was on my mind.

I'm sure I will post something else completely random before the day is out.

  • Nola, I didn't mean to sound like a smartass. Sorry I came across that way.
