Wedding Woes

My class reunion is going to be sad

It's this saturday.  10 years.

We only had 80 in our graduating class, and 30 people have rsvped.  That's 30 total, including spouses.  So a good portion of that 30 were'nt in our class.

This party is gonna be wild. :/

Blech.  I think we had something like 100 at our 10 year, and that included spouses, out of 333 graduating.  People just don't seem to care until later.

Sounds like mine. We had 500 people, and 30 showed up. I was not in that 30. For $110 per person, and 2 weeks before my due date, and in NJ, it wasn't happening.

They still have reunions? I thought that's what Facebook is for.

I don't even think we're *having* a reunion - mine would be 10 years in June, and I've heard nothing.

    ::sits with Aunt Flo::

My 25th would be this year and I have heard nothing about it.  We were a pretty lame class, though.

my 10 year is in 2013. I imagine the turnout will be low. What's more alarming to me about it is that so many of my classmates have died since we graduated. We're 26. WTF!?

My 20th will be in 3 years.   We haven't lost anyone in my class, that I know of anyway.   But with only 100 people, and most of them on FB, I think I would know.
DH's class has lost about 10 guys.   He's only 34.

    My 20th is in 4 years. I know they planned a 10th, but I don't think they did a 15th last year.

I wouldn't go to any of them: they like to plan them for the long Thanksgiving weekend (WTF?) because I guess I'm the only person who moved more than 1 state away or something. I don't have the money to fly cross-country on a holiday weekend to see people I can reconnect with on the internet and all the others I'd rather not see again.

My FI "6th" (WTF) was last year. We were a year apart at school, and heaps of people in my year went.
    We weren't invited.
I just think it was a weird HS party, that anyone could go to, if you happened to see it on facebook. We went back to our hometown a few weeks later, and were asked why we didn't go to the reunion... well we weren't invited!
Not sure if there will be a proper reunion. I doubt it, or it will be like a 12th reunion or something.
I think around 6 ppl have died in my FI year (out of at the most 100).

I think there were a lot at mine, but my class had a lot of people who didn't move at all or moved and have returned.  Those MFers tracked my butt down through a bunch of different people too, trying to get me to come.  I thought it was ridiculous, the woman who planned it had the first night at a high end club restaurant and then other activities filled a whole weekend, for $150/couple for all festivities (not including room if you were from OOT).

My thought on high school reunions is that if I wanted to stay in touch with you, I would have or I would've reconnected with you at some point.  Most of my high school friends that I've run into/tried to reconnect, we don't have much in common anymore.
