Pet Psychic Answers Reveled!

So we had our appointment with the pet communicator lady (remember, this was free. Not something I’d pay for). I’d say 90% of what she said was typical cat behavior (Sake is trying to establish a relationship with Miso, it will take some time), 5% was made up (Miso is angry that you don’t let him outside) and the other 5% were lucky guesses (Sake never understood why “she” didn’t like him. “She” being Schmoo before I mentioned her gender). So it was amusing. Some highlights:

Sake kept telling her he’s “not an old man” and gets annoyed at Miso for thinking he’s old
Miso is a “rabble rouser” who enjoys playing with DH and gets annoyed at my kisses
Schmoo is content in the spirit world and her only complaint about her life is that she wasn’t an “only cat”. She disliked Sake

I guess Miso forgot to tell her that he had a bum heart. Yeah, here we go again. Took him to vet after seeing him pant after playing, x-ray showed an enlarged heart. He has an appointment with a cardiologist on Friday. I think someone or something is telling me to stop adopting cats. Either that or they direct sick animals to us because we take care of them, although I’m not eager to spend another 5 grand on vet bills right now. ::sigh::

She even teaches classes on how to telepathically communicate with your animals. Yes, she uses the word telepathic. She's got a pretty sweet homestead on her website, she must be doing well taking money from gullible people.

I'm sorry about more kitty trouble.  But yes, you should pay the vet bills by robbing from the dummies that thinks this works.  If she can communicate with pets over the phone, how does she ever sleep at night with all of the animals on this planet talking to her?

I guess we're suckers. We even turned down another cat because we were told he had urinary problems. We visited Miso twice, listened to his breathing, watched his activity level....he seemed healthy. He still seems healthy, he just pants a few times a day after running around. I'm sure he didn't get the chance to run around at the shelter, so they probably had no idea.

I told DH if we ever adopt again I want to get him or her checked out before we adopt. Like taking a used car to a mechanic before you buy.

Miso went directly to the vet when we adopted him. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars. Got a clean bill of health. I'd feel too bad to return him to the shelter, he's got a home and a brother now (and they are getting along). So off to the expensive specialist we go!
