A friend of mine had her heart crushed by her BF of about 5 years last April (2011).  He broke up with her and within three weeks was dating someone else.

They eloped this past weekend.  I am completely shocked.  And appalled.  And just holy hell.

That is insane! I feel like there's more story there and I am nosy and would be asking all about that ish. But I lack social skills sometimes.

Yick.  This guy is also BFFs with my exFI, so currently, he's slimeball of the year.

Also...meh.  I broke up my assholio bf and started dating H within 2-3 weeks too.

I broke up (for good) with on/off BF of a loooooooooonnnnngggg time in October 2003.   Started seeing RBG (rebound guy) right away, met DH in Feb 2004, broke things off with RBG in March to be exclusive with DH.   Moved in with DH in September 2004, got engaged in June 2005, got married in April 2006.  
So yeah - sometimes you fall in love, meet your match and things move quickly.

If the eloping was 2 months post break up, she'd need a drink.  But at this point, while it still might ache a little, I'd be working on getting over it.

I actually had a friend who moved in with her boyfriend for one month.  They broke up, she moved out and he was engaged one month later.  We had an angry drunk night for her.

Karma is a biatch though.  She got her life under control...great new career making tons of money, bigger and better city, dropped 100 pounds to a healthy, sexy weight, has run a couple of races (I think she's up to half marathon) and found herself as an independent woman again.  

He was divorced a little over a year later.  He keeps texting her.  She keeps deleting them.  She and I enjoy laughing about this lots.
