given the new nude xray scans, would you consider a pat down instead?

Right now I'd opt for a patdown, but post baby the x-ray won't bother me.

Sadly though I can't remember the last time I flew.

I'm the only person who won't fly? Huh. And I refused to fly even before this ridiculousness.

Give me the open road and my 35mpg Corolla any day. So much better than barfing my way to my destination after having been sexually assaulted by the TSA.

<div>The pat downs I saw weren't pat downs at all, they are more dragging their hands over you versus patting to feel for illegal stuff.</div>

Side-note: If I were a good, non-skeevy TSA employee, I'd be HATING the pat-downs. Groping old people/young people/perverts all day long? Nothankyou.

    But. Groping hot men? Acceptable.

I'd rather have some random person see a picture of my innards than have their hands all over my junk.
And I'd rather have both than risk being on a plane with someone who has explosives or guns shoved up their rectum.

If I have to pick one to fly, I'd prefer lookie but no touchy.

CW,  they're not going to find the guns in the ass, you know. The scanners just look through clothes, and no one is sticking their fingers up any buttholes.

So, really, it's not making any one any safer.

I'd hope that the metal detectors would detect the ass guns. Or any Fruit of the Boom bombs.

I'd much rather have someone see it's that time of month than feel it. Honestly, from the images leaked on gizmodo, I don't give 2 shts about some dude in a dark room looking at me like that.

I do take slight issue with the fact that I went through a machine like that the last time I flew, and there was no information available about what it was or did.

    I agree with CW's logic:

Here's what bothers me about ALL of this...The TSA and DHS can make up all the arbitrary rules in the world w/o running it by ANYONE and hold the American public hostage to their whims because it's all 'in the name of safety'.

Andplusalso, I *hate* hearing the stories about how the TSA will separate children from their parents to further screen the parent.  It makes me never want to fly with the kiddo or DefConn1 alone.

I'm in agreement with Mrsconn.  Not to mention I'm not sure that these new procedures actually do make us safer.

My old Boss Lady used to work for the FAA. Right after 9/11, they started sending people through security with fake but realistic bombs/guns, etc. She told me once that in the last round of decoys before she left (in 2003), 5 of the 6 people got through security with no one noticing.

I'm the only one on the no-fly list?

    Just kidding.

But really, when we were flying back from CA from my grandpa's funeral, TSA found a huge boy-scout duty utility knife thing in the lining of my little brother's laptop case.. it somehow got through a hole in the lining by mistake, and it was no big deal, my dad ran to the airport post office and shipped it back home.  The scary part it, it had to have been there when we flew TO CA, and they never caught it.  Scary.
