need wording help

I almost want a poem, but I'll save that for another time.

What I want to say is, "We're cooking up something great!" 

But the associated image is of cupcakes. And to me baking =/= cooking. 

Is there a punny way to convey what I mean using a baking-y term? Or am I being too nitpicky about it? I thought about "whipping up," but it still doesn't fit exactly.

Ideas?

Can you simply say "We're baking up something great?"  Or maybe something about the oven is one and something smells sweet?  I agree cooking makes me think savory, but baking.implies sweet.

I went with "whipping up something great." 

I"m not sure if I can call this snail's pace "progress" with a straight face. 

A few people get to review/edit before it goes live.
