She isn't asking to wear her wedding dress....drop it.  Everyone wears black to weddings now.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

Adults can pick out what they wear.

My MIL wore black to my wedding. She asked, and I told her it was fine. My bridesmaids also wore black. So did DH, and all the groomsmen.

Black is acutally very appropriate for weddings, especially formal evening weddings.   When my Mother and soon-to-be Mother-in-Law asked if I had a preference for their dress colours, I told them that it was entirely up to them, didn't have to match anything, and I wanted them to feel good about what they were wearing.

I agree, if she had no intention of taking a suggestion, she probably shoudln't have asked - but she may have just done it to be polite, expecting you to NOT give her "rules" as to what she could wear.

I'd really just let it go at this point.  If she shows up in white, she'll look a little dumb and that's about it.  If she shows up in all black, I think she'll probably look great.

Good luck and don't stress too much.  In the grand scheme of things, this one is sitll in a minor stage and can hopefully be left there.

Sorry - Didn't mean to offend anyone by deleting the post.  Just got my answer, which is to drop the issue altogether.  In the grand scheme of things the color of a dress just isn't going to matter.  I just deleted the post because I didn't like the way I came across and didn't want to hurt my FMIL's feelings in case she reads this website (which I really do not think she does...but you never know.)  Thanks for the help!

You can't delete people's impressions.  ::smh::

But good idea to drop it.
