*head tilt*

We got in an argument the other day about rings... he was engaged before and gave his ex-fiance a huge ring... I have been lusting after a pretty big ring myself however Brad and I are talking about buying  a house, him changing jobs, etc. So I told him that he didn’t have to buy me a ring s big as the first one he bought. He said 'yeah' and then informed me had never planned to buy me a big ring. I got upset because even though a big ring isn't why i want to marry Brad, I wanted him to say something sweeter. Like maybe say that he was glad because that money could be used to go towards the house, etc. I don’t know but when he said he wasn’t planning to get me a ring 1/2 as expensive... I was a little upset.

I'm a little confused at to why these girls are all about the ring. I suppose a man who actually wants to marry your crazy ass isn't enough. And how the hell does she know what kind of ring the ex got?

  • I was wondering the same thing. How would she know about her fiance's ex's ring? Unless he was dumb enough to volunteer that information.

  • this is what leads men to buying $10 created stone rings on e-bay.

maybe in some cases, ring size is inversely proportional to d1ck size - he needs to get a big stone to make up for what he's lacking?
  • She's a moron for making this an issue.  He's a moron for telling her about/showing her the ring he bought for his ex-FI.
  • CP and I have had this discussio and he was pleased to know that other women (WWers) are aware of the STFU ring.

I used to be all, "You need a ring to be engaged." Until my ex got me a phat ass rock and still was a lying, cheating ass. I had a ring, but I also had a trifling man who didn't really want to be married.

  • I think that a ring (regardless of value) is a nice thing to have.

However, as you said, that ring is worth nothing if the guy that gave it to you is a douchebag and it's not really a symbol of anything.
