Well, it took us all of 15 minutes to vote.  But, there was quite a line queuing up when we left, so I think we timed it well.  They were smart at our voting place (a community center) and opened up into the large gym so there was plenty of room AND most of the line was inside this time.  2004 was a cold 45 minute wait.

IPads have taken over the universe.  That's how they signed us in.  IDK that it was faster than the old days of the notebook, plus my signature always looks whack on those things.

Also, one of the bars is giving $1 beer with proof you voted.  I intend to take them up on that offer before going to our election party.

I'm kind of glad I'll be off-line this afternoon and evening.  I'm already tired of the fb stuff.

Our bars don't open until after 6pm today and alcohol cannot be served or sold until after 6pm.

Good thing I have three bottles of wine on my counter. 

Stupid state laws.

MrsConn, what?!  There are days I wouldn't have made it!  What about drinks at lunch?  This makes me very sad.  

I admit my political junkieness.  I've been this way my whole life, since before I could even vote.  DH knew it going in.

Any other day, they're open.  But on election day, by state law, alcohol cannot be sold or served until the polls close.  And while you cannot buy alcohol on Sunday here, bars are still open and serving (as are restaurants).

Oh man.  H and I will go after work, it is raining and getting out early was not my choice.  Yeck.  BUT, it will get done regardless.

Your polls close at 6, conn?  Ours are open until 9,  Can you imagine the bars being closed until then?

What time do your polls open, Taw?!

The strange thing about our state is that overturning the no alcohol sales on Sunday or election day has come up several times and it just never gets any traction to actually go anywhere.  The state is split 50/50 (according to polls that have been taken in past) and the alcohol retailers lobby is strong in our state and they don't want Sunday sales.

You also can't buy cold beer at a grocery store or gas station.  Cold beer can only be bought in a liquor store.

Really?  I'd never heard of that.  I wonder where else it's like that.

Our polls are open until 7.  As long as you're in line by then, you get to vote.  I know last prez election they were open until around 9 here, but in KC and StL, it was later for some.  I don't think there were any past midnight though.

We're 7a-7p in Tennessee. I'm glad I live really close to work because my coworkers are having to haul ass to get to their polling stations, as most of them live around an hour from work in light traffic.
