Wedding Woes

dr. WW.

i have a headache that will not go away. it's not a migraine. it's just a simple tention headache. i woke up with it at 2am and was lucky to fall back to sleep around 3am. normally, one advil will work but i already took 2 and it's still sort of there. and now the double dose of ibuprofen is making me nauseated.

i tired some relaxation techniques to to relax my muscles, but it's still there. i don't think it warrants a trip to urgent care, but maybe it does? it's not the flu.

i think maybe i just need to take a mental health day.

Re: dr. WW.

  • Hmmm...  coming from someone who has had headaches for up to 10 days straight, which no amount of painkillers (like the real stuff that they injected straight into me) could touch, and who regularly has headaches that she treats with 3 ibuprofen at a time - - no, I don't think one headache that you've had for 8 hours and have only treated with 2 ibuprofen warrents a trip to urgent care or even the doctor.   Does that sound bitchy?   Sorry.

Also, I'm not a doctor, so if you truly feel like you need to go to one, don't let me stop you.

Also also, don't take ibuprofen on an empty stomach.
  • What about a heating pad on the muscles you think are causing the tension?

i just need to whine a little. as soon as i can stop working today, i am going to do that. iam sure it'll go away eventually. and then i could eat.
  • Do you normally wear glasses or contacts? I remember getting wicked tension headaches from my contacts years ago because the prescription wasn't strong enough.

I'd probably just wait it out and if it's still there after the weekend go see your doc. If you start feeling really dizzy or confused, you spike a fever or you start vomiting then go to the ER
