Buying a dress online... yes?...no?

Hi Everyone!

I am wondering if anyone out there has purchased their wedding gown online? I can find all of these GREAT prices at discount sites but I haven't spoken to anyone who has used them.

Any insight? Warnings? Advice?

I will not be buying my dress for awhile (wedding isn't till July 2012 and I just had gastric bypass 4 months ago so I am waiting for my weight loss to level out).

Any insight would be highly appreciated!

~Sarah

depends on what store..there are some that are questionable..i don't remember which ones were good or bad, but i know for sure that chrissyobridal.com is legit...i bought my dress from there. it's technically a store in NJ, but will ship to anywhere for free and they carry a lot of designers. they also match prices, and even matched a store in WA for my MOH's wedding dress this last july. we also got all of our BM dresses there with no problems.

I highly recommend Netbride.com.  I took a bit of a risk and ordered my bridal gown from them.  It came in on time as stated and was totally authentic.  I do recommend trying dresses on at the local stores and being sure that you have the right style number/designer written down.  I found the dress I love at La Belle Elaine's and then ordered it for over half the price from Netbride!  They are an actual store in Minnesota also - which is a sales tax-free state.

You do have to be careful with the other websites that may be knock-off's of the real thing etc.  I found the attire board to be helpful when checking the validity of websites.  Also check Yelp.

Good luck and welcome to the board too!
