NWwR - c/s moms? and pic

I'm working on the birth story - it's a doozy - but had a question for the c/s moms...

i remember a few of the ladies recommended a post c/s "binder" that they really liked- what was the brand name/ how long post op did you start using it, and where do they carry it? (online only vs. BRU/Motherhood/etc.)

also, I posted pics of "Wolverine" on FB, but thought this one was fitting for TK - giving DK the side-eye at 4 days old - kid is snarky already.

i'm finally home, and out little girl is doing really well - hopefully won't have to be in the NICU too long. (Never needed breathing help, has been taking all meals from a bottle, food intake increases daily, no more IV needed, etc.)

I'm so glad she's doing well. She's such a little beauty.

I didn't wear any kind of binding (my doctor never suggested it) but I'm curious as to what it's supposed to do.  Is it mainly for support and pain relief?

I'm so glad to hear how well Wolverine is doing.  Has there been any talk of when she should be able to come home?

    She's so beautiful.

I don't know about the binding, but that sounds interesting. I'm still hoping and praying to not have to have a c-section, but if I do have to, I'm glad to have you guys for information.

I've seen women who love a binder post op and others that don't Barbie. If possible, I'd call your doc and see if they can get you one. We actually have them in house at my hospital, which is nice, they can try it, see if they like it, and if not they aren't out the money. I will say, most women do like them, it offers some extra support for the incision and muscles in the area.

    yay!
I didn't have the bindy thing and made one (post 'almost c-section surgery') out of an ace bandage and a small pillow.  I wanted something binding.

My binder was from the hospital - sortof like a giant velcro-ed ace bandage.  But they have similar things at BRU. (my BRU had some in-store)  I think it's basically the same as the Belly Bandit.

I LOVED mine and really do credit it in part for my getting up and going much more quickly after des. (I didn't have one after Dex.)

    And she is adorable. :)

She's so tiny and perfect.  I'm glad she's doing well and hope she's home with you very, very soon.

I had a binder while in the hospital.  It was just a velcro ace bandage, but I did like it while in the hospital.

Did we have any doubt that she would inherit the snark?  I can't wait to read the full story.

H had to wear something like that after his hearnia surgery.  I would think medical supply stores would have something like it if you can't find it at BRU.
