Dress picture (feeling negative follow up)

Ok, so here's the picture.  It doesn't help that I don't like the way I look in the pic. I'm always really critical of photographs of me.

I've never used flickr before, so I'm not sure if this link will work or not...

Personally, I think the dress looks great on you. But your face tells the story...you don't look like a happy bride in the photo. You need to feel comfortable and beautiful in your dress, and no one can do that for you.  Instead of shopping for another dress, think about what you would change about this one that would make it your dream dress? Sometimes the smallest alterations make all the difference. Good luck!

there were other pictures where I was smiling a lot more, but I tend to get chipmunk cheeks when I smile really big and I don't like how it looks, lol.

The straps can be done spaghetti as opposed to halter, and I think I'll like how that looks a bit better.

I think it fits you really well.  The only thing I don't love is the halter top.  I think it would look a lot better w/ spaghetti straps, or even strapless.

I agree with everyone, once it is altered it will look a lot better, the top just doesnt sit quite right and I think a seamstress can fix that either by changing the straps or lowering it under the armpits or by contouring the shape of the top a little.I really love how it fits over the hips and waist though, so just a little tweeking it would be perfect.

Thanks for talking me off the ledge, ladies!  I really don't want to try to fit a new dress into our budget, lol.

i love this dress on you! it's jaw dropping, sexy sophistacted and classy, I think it flatters you and makes you look tall and slim

I would have to agree with pp! It's very sexy and it looks good on you. It needs to be fitted, especially at the bust. The spaghetti straps is a good idea. I think you have a great dress!

I think it's very flattering on your body.  I agree with PPs about doing the spaghetti straps vs. halter - I think it will make the top line up better plus I tend to think thicker straps look better as a halter.  Definitely STOP looking at other dresses!  That's when you end up as a 2-3 dress bride.

I 100% agree with PP.  The dress is super flattering on you, but with a few alterations (changing to spaghetti straps) it will look PERFECT!

Oh, my gosh!  I think it is stunning!  IMHO it is one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen!  Really!  I think it looks fabulous on you!  Hopefully you will feel better once it has been altered to fit you.

And don't worry about chipmunk cheeks when smiling!  I bet your smile is one of the things your FI loves most about you.  I used to feel the same way, but DH tells me all the time how much he loves my smile, so I try not to care how I feel about myself in pictures.
