Glasses are one thing I refuse to wash by hand. I'm afraid it's going to break while my hand is in there.

This is not true and you know it.

I really need to know why you aren't using the dishwasher for this. Honestly, I've culled my pots and pans to the point where I only have about 3 things that must be hand-washed. Glasses are not any of those things.

The only things I hand wash are my wine glasses and my one expensive cooking pan. I hate doing it, but the pan is way too nice to put in the dishwasher and the wine glasses won't fit.

Flo, have you tried sticking the wine glasses in the silverware buckets? Mine fit perfectly - snug, but not too tight to get in and out.

I told you, I'm trying to get everything to be dishwasher-compatible. I am a lazy fcker.

I hand wash all our wine and beer glasses. But I do the lazy restaurant method. 1/4 cup of oxyclean in a sink full of hot water. Soak glasses for at least 10 minutes (I tend to leave them for a few hours, just because I go off to do other things). You can wipe the rims if there are lipstick stains, but usually the oxyclean takes care of that. Rinsing is usually done by filling halfway, swirling, and dumping. Oxyclean isn't very sudsy, so it's a quick process.

This is a particularly good method for beer glasses, because most dish soaps leave a residue that is bad for head retention (<--dirty).
