FI works 8-4 M-F, he's a software engineer, and I work 10-6 Sat, 10-5 Sun and 9-6 M-W as a Property Manager

Splurged on Venue/Decor, and budgeted on the dress and flowers.

My non floral centerpieces. We're buying bird cages and lanterns and will possibly paint them to match the theme. I will also be trying to DIY our cake topper.

I'm pretty quiet in person, but have a pretty nasty temper... guess it's the red hair

Venue is columbia winery - I'm not sure I have anything else in mind

I am a photographer and I work in insurance, my FI is going to school and working for a cabulance company

YES! It wont be here for another 5 or 6 weeks tho.

Hmmm... nothing I can think of off the top of my head...

Splurge is definitely the catering - definitely budgeted on invitations and center pieces

Tiered cake.... I have just always had something against tiered cake.  It seems like a waste since non-tiered cake is so much cheaper.

Biggest Splurge:  Venue
Most Budget Friendly:  Music, I-Pod

8.) Your favorite wedding detail so far? .....or the one detail you can't wait to DIY or buy for your decor?
I love my invites, they were a huge PITA, but they are exactly what I wanted (and couldn't find ANYWHERE, so they are total DIY) and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them.

9.) What WR thing has caused you the most stress so far in this process?
My invites   FI and I had several fights because they caused me to have to stay up extra late for like a week.

10.) Something about you we may never know otherwise?
I have never had a Driver's License.

We were engaged on Christmas Eve Eve in 2009. Dec 23, 2009. Our wedding is July 10, 2011!!!! sooo close!

We will have been together for 2 years and 3 months at the wedding. Our two year anniversary is coming up in a month!

We are getting married, ceremony and reception, at The Edgewater House. theedgewaterhouse.com .......It is really my dream venue. Only thing that could make it better would be if we would actually be in the sand.....maybe Hawaii?

I also really LOVEEEEEE the Moon Mansion. themoonmansion.com .....I thnk it is gorgeous! I found it after we were midway through planning....hadn't book venue yet.....but I didn't want to go that route because it is a completely different feel than The Edgewater House and I didnt want to start planning all over again. Plus I think The Edgewater House is more "us"

I nanny this little girl.....and a little boy too. Two 1-yr-olds!



We are working on teaching her how to feed herself!

I do have my dress. Here is a picture....but it will actually look very different by the time I wear it. I am adding/changing a lot of it.

Hmm......I didn't actually have an answer to this before I made the question......Ummm....this is hard because I pretty much love everything I see.....If I could have a wedding during every season, I probably would. haha...........oh wait, I got it! A full on wedding planner.....I love planning my wedding to much to think about having a planner do it.


7.) What is something that you are splurging on? Budgeting on?
Splurging.....probably photography! .......Budgeting....I guess I could say video. We intended to spend much more on a videographer, but then we had to cut our budget and video was the first thing to get cut drastically. I'm glad though because we found someone who does great work and is saving us a lot of money!

umm....I haven't really made details yet...........I do however REALLY want to make shell bouquets....but haven't really figured out a good DIY plan of attack. I would say money....or family issues. I have had a ton of crazy family stuff go down.....as a result, my mom will not be at my wedding....and my younger sister who I really wanted to be MOH or a BM, will also not be attending....this has been hard. also, my dad prob won't be there either, but that is not a relationship thing...more a health thing.

Ummm.......I am 7 years younget than my FI.....but he tells everyone I am the more mature one.....because I am!

My fiance is an EMT for a private ambulance company, and I work for the same company but stay home because of an on-the-job injury that prevents me from driving for 12 hours straight.5.) Do you have your dress? 6.) What is one thing WR that a lot of brides spend money on that you think is silly and would never spend your money on? Flowers. I don't think they're silly or anything, they're just not for me. I'm using other sorts of decorations and buying a few silk ones for bouquets. 
7.) What is something that you are slurging on? Budgeting on?I'm splurging on food, because I don't want to have to stress about it, and just know it'll be good. I'm budgeting on my dress- going to find what I like then buy it used/nwt from oncewed or similar. Also budgeting on cake- having my friend who is coming out of "cake retirement" to professionally make ours. 8.) Software Engineer for me and Resource Management and Tools Developer for him

I haven't seen my dress since May of last year. I won't get to see it until probably May of this year.

Engraved toasting flutes and cake cutting sets.

7.) What is something that you are slurging on? Budgeting on?

Splurging: Catering.
Budgeting: We're not having a videographer, but less for budgeting reasons and more cause my FI/DH (What do I call him? :P) is camera shy. Getting him to agree to a photographer was like pulling teeth.

8.) Your favorite wedding detail so far? .....or the one detail you can't wait to DIY or buy for your decor?

Detail? I love food. XD It hasn't been planned yet, but I think I am most excited about the food.

People-related drama.

Fox Island Church of Christ.  Was Kitsap State Memorial Park but found this church overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains and realized it was the "right" place.

4.) What do you and your FI from 9-5 everyday (or whatever time you work)? 
I work M-F, 8-5 for a US Congressman and he works from home for Comcast 9:30a -8:30 p (4/10) Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat but in two weeks that changes to Mon-Wed, Fri from 9:15 a  to 8:15p !  Weekend off together for the first time! 

5.) Do you have your dress? Picture? Picture of inspiration?
I almost have a dress - have a pretty base dress ordered (but stuck in Redmond by a train derailment - WTH?), and my friend is going to take my moms old dress and add to the new dress (if it fits right).  Probably making a wrap and a short jacket from the silk and lace.

6.) What is one thing WR that a lot of brides spend money on that you think is silly and would never spend your money on?
For me I can't figure out the whole sit-down dinner thing.  Then again my invite list is in the neighborhood of 275! LOL

7.) What is something that you are slurging on? Budgeting on?
Watching spending on everything but will splurge on a hourglass for our sand ceremony, possibly rings and honeymoon excursions (cruise to Alaska).

8.) Your favorite wedding detail so far? .....or the one detail you can't wait to DIY or buy for your decor?
I can't wait to meet with my friend who's doing my flowers and picking out what we'll use and creating the bouquets - and especially the memorial arrangement for family who have passed away.  (That one will make me cry.)

Myself!  LMBO!!  Seriously when we first got engaged I was "the timelines say do this, and this, and..." and I was going crazy trying to figure out what to do, how to do it on a budget, and FI finally had to tell me to chill or we'd be just be going to a JP!  I chilled.....

I can come across as confident but have real bouts of insecurity in life.  Also can be outgoing but in reality am shy.

Kinmir--I'm glad I"m not the only one who loves the ridiculously expensive but beautiful Moon Mansion   So funny we both ended up with beach venues!    And yes with the economy, we have gone from 42 employees down to 28, I am just praying we both still have jobs by the time we get married!  And I'm glad you like the dress, I'm having serious second thoughts about the swirly bottom

7.) What is something that you are slurging on? Budgeting on? Splurging on photography a little and the honeymoon for sure!  Bugeting on favors, flowers, transportation.

What do you and your FI from 9-5 everyday (or whatever time you work)?We are both attorneys, I do family law, criminal defense and injury work (like workers comp and personal injury).  5.) Do you have your dress? Picture? Picture of inspiration?Yes, I designed it myself and had it made for me. 


6.) What is one thing WR that a lot of brides spend money on that you think is silly and would never spend your money on?favors. We aren't doing them at all. 
7.) What is something that you are slurging on? Budgeting on?Photos, a huge chunk of our budge it going to awesome pics, and we love our photographer.

I made the bridesmaids dresses- I am pretty proud of them. I also designed and made all the invites which are also pretty cool! There are pics on my bio,
9.) What WR thing has caused you the most stress so far in this process?The welcome dinner. The wedding has enough details aready and this one added event is just too much!

KinMir30 - be GLAD you didn't book at the Moon Mansion - I did and it just got shut down for permitting problems - now 30+ brides are w/o a venue.  It's a nightmare!
