s/o hurricanes: A funny

My SIL lives in the FL panhandle and they're being evacuated.   This is their first evacuation since living in FL. (BIL is in the AF) 

She told my niceces (7 and 8) to go pack their bags for evacuation.  They're going to stay with BIL and SIL in GA.

My youngest niece comes down with her bag.  She packed 7 tubes of lip gloss, her Nintendo DS, and all of her Hello Kitty toys.

There is nothing funny about this!  She got all of the important things!

But this reminds me of one time when I was a kid and we were going on a trip.  My brother was 4 or 5 and packed for himself.  He had a big suitcase and put it by the door ready to be packed into the car.  My mom opened his suitcase to see what she needed to supplement and saw that my brother had packed every pair of underwear out of his dresser and not a single other thing.

When I was a kid, my dad made a joke that when a hurricane came, we needed to fill the bathtub with beer (not water. Alcoholism is hilarious you guys!) I was pretty gullible so I of course took it to heart and proceeded to canvas my cauldesac to spread the word to the other neighbors. I got a lot a laughs and my parents got a few phone calls...
