DC/Educated People

I rec'd some information concerning a graduate certificate/program from George Washington Univ.  It's mostly online courses, with quarterly week-long stays in DC.

Is this a DeVry/Phoenix situation, or is this certificate worth the time?  The $ would be fronted by work.

i think it's worth it to have a GWU certificate on your resume.  it's a legit school.

A lot of really good schools have distance learning programs. I don't think it's going to have the clout that a regular grad degree from GW would, but it won't be laughed at either.

What would the certificate be in?

GWU is very legit. Nothing DeVry about it.

That's what I figured.  It's kind of a BS certificate, but I figured if work would pay for it, why not?  I can do 12 credits and get a certificate in law firm mgmt, or 30 credits for a master of professional studies.

Holy crap.  It is $1,035/credit hour.  Yes, good thing something like this would not come out of my pocket.

oh yeah -- gwu is the second most expensive school in the nation.  thanks, sarah lawrence!

$1035 sounds like off campus.  on campus tuition is about $200 more.

Yes, hmo.  It would be off-campus/online tuition.

School is expensive. If your work will pay for it, do it.
