Dress for under $500

I know this may be a long shot, but does anyone know a good place around here to get a dress for under $500.  I recognize that a lot of people pay much more, but I really want to keep the cost of my wedding down.  I have two years to plan, so that gives me a lot of time for deals...in any case...

I got my dress for $499 at David's Bridal in Lynnwood. I think my FI's mom bought her's for $199 at David's Bridal in Lynnwood 2 years ago when she got married. That's the only place I found in that price range but I've heard of others. Cynderellie's closet, or try consignment shops, ebay/amazon, or the attire/classifieds board on here. :) HTH!

I highly recommend Netbride.com.  I found my dress at a local store, tried it on, etc. but it was out of budget.  I ordered the same dress from Netbride for half the price of what it was in the store.  Mine was just over $500 but I'm sure they have a ton of styles for under that.  Don't be discouraged if you find something over $500 that you like...just check on netbride.

Also, many of the expos have discounted dresses or sample sales with dresses under $500.  You have to be in the mood to try on dresses in the middle of an expo hall but it might be worth it.

You might look at ariadress.com - they have a sort of custom-order process. They used to have a try-on program where they would send you the dress you were looking at to try on at home, but I guess they changed their policy, so they don't do that any more, and they don't have a store in WA or even BC or OR. Still, maybe you'll be travelling to a place that has a store within the next year or so and you could try them on then. They also used to have their prices easily viewable on the site, but I don't see them now. They were around $500 give or take, depending on the fabric and style. It might be worth an email to ask about price ranges and the try on situation as I know these policies were different even two months ago.

I got mine at J Crew for $450.  They have a lot of cute and good quality dresses!

    JCrew
    netbride.com

Even if you're not interested in wearing another bride's gown, there are a ton of NWT dresses on these:
    oncewed.com
    preownedweddingdresses.com
    Craigslist, clothing for sale

I bought my dress at Brides Outlet in Everett for $499. They also have dresses less than that.....and deals/sales pretty often. I have heard some not so great things about them, but I LOVED them. Everyone has a different experience I guess.

Davids bridal. Mine was 300 bucks and I love it.
they have sooo many in so many sizes and if it fits , you can jsut walk out with it.

Nordstrom is also a great place.

BUT you have so much time to plan and pick. Start just googling. You will be SHOCKED at how many places have gowns under 500 :)
