Wedding Woes

Movie reviews

Toy Story:

Despite being pretty much my worst nightmare, with the toys coming alive and all, it was pretty good.  It's no Up, to be sure, but hey, Pixar was just getting started.  I'd recommend it to you just so you can join me in judging...

Toy Story 2:

WHAT is UP with the guilt trip?  Man alive, they act like kids are doing a grievous moral wrong simply by growing up.  Don't get me wrong, the movie was entertaining and all, but I would NEVER show this movie to a kid.  Pixar, what the hell were you thinking?!  Toy Story 3 to be watched and reviewed soon.  On an unrelated note...

Easy A:

I'm not completely sure what the message was here, but I still agree with it.  Between the likable lead and her delightful supporting cast, this movie wouldn't have even needed much of a plot to keep me watching and enjoying.  And yet, it had a pretty good one.  Not that I need great characters or even a great plot to like a movie, which brings me to...

Thor:

I just want to warn you, without giving anything away, that much like in Batman Begins, the villain in this one is right about most things.  Oh, and be forewarned that though the guy playing Thor is all hyped up as being some gorgeous specimen of masculinity, he's only a little over "not bad".  Also, is it my imagination, or is Natalie Portman kind of annoying?  She's not a terrible actress, but I can't seem to like her in any role she plays, ever.
