Wedding Woes

Lumberjack O-face

Last night H asked if I wanted to help him split firewood, I decided "hey why not?".

::smh::

It was a b*tch of a task.  I think I split 2 whole logs, but today, I can't even really use my thumb-forefinger in the pinch motion.

That's what I get for trying to be Paul(a) Bunyon.

    At least you didn't chop your leg off.  I'm pretty sure that is what would happen if I helped.

    splitting wood is HARD.
    (better w/a splitter and a maul than an axe, for the record.  But that requires you to have those)

    Yeah.  We have an axe, two wedges and a maul.  I did love doing it, but it was hard.

    At least he has faith that you could do it. I told H last week that maybe I would come home and mow the lawn. He laughed so hard he could barely breathe. "you...the lawn... nature! bwahahahahaha"

    Also, I would have chopped some part of myself off, so good for you.

    I think he likes to see me helping.  Shoveling, raking, chopping wood.  Plus it's physical labor and I kind of like that stuff.

    Did you wear one of those plaid shirts?

    I inquired about using the chainsaw last Friday for some yard-tidying, and DH decided he'd do it for me.  Confession:  that was my plan all along.

    I told H I would mow the lawn if he would start the mower for me. That is as far as that went. He ended up doing it.

    Also, I'd like to give a shout out to my H for doing that job, and doing it well. We have a patch of grass between the two sections of the duplex. It is sort of 'shared space' - for lack of a better way to describe it.

    I can tell, just by looking, when H has mowed that, or if someone else has. H makes sure to get the weed whacker out and does all of the edges all nicely. No one does as good of a job as he does.
