I could use some ideas if you've got the for a last minute gift for my aunt. She and my cousin are going to end up being here for christmas. I came up with something for my cousin but am at a loss for my aunt. She is a knitter/crocheter, sometimes quilter I think. Got any generic gift ideas I can find today and not be left a crazy loon at the mall?

can you hit up a Michael's and get her some yarn and schmancy needles?

Hit up a book store and get a bunch of books or magazines about knitting. Interweave is a great publisher.

I also vote magazines. some of the specialty magazines are kindof pricey - the kind of thing that makes a neat gift, but you probably wouldn't buy yourself.

You may have to go to B&N for this, though, which may or may not be an insane idea on this day, depending on what time you can go.

As a crafter, my ideal gift is a gift card to a craft store. I like small, local places, but if your aunt lives far away Joann's or Michael's would be fine.

Sweet, I ordered a pattern off etsy,something I did not know I could do and will get her a Michael's gift card for eventual yarn purchsing. Thank you ladies, this is a much bette idea than the coyote christmas yard decoration DH was suggesting.

My DD likes quilting and I found her a cool calender that came with a pattern to match each of  the months pictures.
