DIY Check: Hair Flower

The crunch is on to finish all my DIY projects... Has anyone made a hair flower? I have the flower part complete... and I've hand sewn the barrette on. But it appears that the hand sewing might be too fragile. Should I glue it on? Suggestions?   TIA!

I made the flower out of Organza. Hand sewed the layers together. Sewed the pearls on. And glued the loose bugle beads on. (and need to add a few more)

I would glue. That turned out lovely! How did you do the edging on the petals?

Thanks. I made a template of a flower, put it on top of 5 or 6 layers of organza, pinned it down, cut it out, and then separated the layers. Then I took each one and holding each petal, held it near a candle flame. Don't put it in the flame. About 1-2" away from the flame will be enough heat to make the organza curl. You can shape the petals as they shrivel. - it's all about how you hold them, applying more heat in one spot, etc.

Nice job!  I actually started doing something similar for BMs, but after cutting and doing the edging on 1 flower (need 6) decided to go ahead and buy them from an Etsy seller.  Call me impatient - I got invites, pomanders, and other stuff to finish!!  But love the look of the organza with the edging!
