    Wedding Dress update:
On Saturday I had my 1st dress fitting.  And it was absolutely fabulous!  I bought my dress way back in January 2009 at a Sample Sale, and I had only tried it on like 3 times since then, so I was worried I wouldn't *love* it anymore.  But I love it even more now, I think the extra fullness from the crinoline I bought helped Laughing.

2-Month mark is today.... Surprised  I have been feeling super anxious and nervous/overwhelmed for the past few "month marks," and today is no different.  I warned FI last night that I might have a moment or two of Bridezilla-ness today, so he should be on the look out, lol.

    Music update:
FI and I went over our music list (list of songs we want to play at the wedding), and he's making sure that we actually have all those songs on our hard drive(s).  We are DIYing our music, so this is a big step in being able to check this off.

FI STILL hasn't asked his aunt or cousin if we need to send them music sheets for the ceremony music we want.  And we need to figure out a good song that can be played with a violin and guitar for our recessional.  Any ideas?  The WP is walking down to "All I Want Is You," by Barry Louis Polisar (from the Juno Soundtrack), and I'm walking down to Wagner's Bridal March, but I'm coming to a blank on the recessional.  I want something fun and upbeat.

    GTG:
I think the first GTG under my "Mod-ship"  (like dictatorship... LOL) went well.  And I hope everyone else who attended had a good time too!

    Checks!
-FI and I spent a day in Seattle yesterday. We ended up booking The Moore Hotel for our wedding night! Very excited about that!!!!
-We kinda walked around, scoping out locations for the engagement session. We learned that the Alki Lighthouse is only open June-Aug!!!!! HUGE sadface. That was the piece of our e-pics that I was most excited about.....so now I need to figure out something else. On the plus side, we did see some other areas that we thought would be fun to photograph at. So, our e-session might turn into a Space Needle, Pike Place and Pier shoot....Not exactly what I was going for....but I guess we can make it work.

    Still need to work on:
-BM cards! These are starting to give me a headache.....and I am still feeling nervous about asking one of my BM's who I am worried might end up turning into failure/headaches/and heartaches. GAHHH IDK! I think I need advice on this.
-Need to get going on designing and beginning to create invites while I have this big break from school.

    Need Help With:
    -advice on asking BM's.....
-One thing that comes to mind is making shell bouquets like this <<< .....but I have no idea how I would do it. Any extra creative minds out there who would know how to do this? Thanks!
    -Think that's all I got.

This weekend was pretty good for us!

-We went wine tasting in Woodinville and decided on and bought ALL of our reception white wine and white and red wine for dinner!
-We went to Trader Joe's to look at champagne.  A very helpful soul recommended two ones in our (very cheap lol) budget.  So we bought those two and will sample them tonight and decide!
-I ordered the wine label table numbers to go with our table wine!
-Worked on BM and GM gifts.  3 BM's are done, and 2 are about half done!  GM are a different story.. but that's FI's problem.  =)
    -Ordered FG and RB gifts
-Ordered toasting flutes from Things Remembered

Whew.  The wine was really stressing me out, so I'm so glad to have that done with!

***peskyinpurple:  What champagnes from TJ's are you trying?  FI and I are both kinda clueless about what to serve for champagne.  TIA!

    Checks
    Invitations
: Sent the final sign off for invitations and they were just sent to the printer! I'm so excited. :)

Champagne (speaking of): we placed our order through our caterers for our champagne. We're buying a couple cases of Fresita, a strawberry sparkling wine that I really love since my bear has no preferences on champagne at all. :) Whatever is left over we get to keep which is totally fine by me.

Website RSVP: The website RSVP coding is pretty much done and I'm pretty pleased with it since it was from scratch. Yes, I'm a total nerd.

Flower Girls: We ordered cute "pearl" necklace and bracelet sets for our flower girls and finalized what dress they're going to wear. Just gotta wait until late May to order them.

Tuxedos: His tuxedo is being custom tailored in Hong Kong for him at a cool price of 150 dollars US. If it doesn't work out, we didn't spend so much, and if it does, he as a tailored tuxedo for the future for a pretty cheap price. :)

Parents: My parents have finally booked their flight to Seattle, which means a lot of their friends/guests have also booked since they're traveling mostly together.

    Coming Up
Our caterer is having their spring tasting in April and we RSVPed for that, so looking forward to it.

Other than that, I am drawing blanks on what else we have to do.

Checks: picked up our favors (bubble wands) this weekend. And we set our first meeting with the minister for tihs coming Sunday!

Still need to work on: invitation wording and design, agreeing on centerpiece designs, and better organizing the things we have bought.  Tried rings on this weekend and are close to a decision.

Need help with: finding shoes I can afford that fit my hard-to-fit feet.  Oh, and are COMFORTABLE! LOL

Stressors: Work issues are tripping up my weight loss plans (I'm a stress eater), and trying to figure out if I should job hunt during wedding planning is stressing me out as well.  And can't figure out if we should buy the rings before gold prices go up any higher and get sized down if I can get some more weight off.  And the main stressor today - it's Monday!

<strong><font color="#de4f0b">1. What is making you nervous about asking one of your bms? Is it her personality or attitude? Are you just not super close to her? If it's making you nervous, you might want to just trust your gut on this one and not ask her. I'm sure you don't need more drama then your already going to have. :-/

    2. You could probably get a styrofoam ring and ball and wrap the bottom/hot glue the bottom of the shells to wire and anchor them in the styrofoam (in planetish position...ball in the center secured to the ring around the ball with dowels/wire so you can thread flowers through gap and around the ring) and use artifical flowers around to hide the styrofoam.

    1. Well we used to be really close but this past October we kind of got in a big fight and I think we both hurt each others feelings, although I was only trying to be helpful and a good friend....but it caused a lot of turmoil and we just kinda stopped talking. It's a super long story. And it involved a guy she was dating....who happened to be FI's Best Man.....who actually treats women HORRIBLY.....and I didn't support their dating, because I was worried about her getting hurt, etc. And through this, she said a lot of hurtful things to me... So anyway, we haven't hung out since then...we have talked some through FB chat and we kind of act like nothing happened. And I have updated her on some wedding stuff....I told her when I bought my dress, etc. But it hasn't been the same. I feel like we both are past it...but we haven't really moved on or apologized to each other. But we have been friends for 10 years, with ups and downs of course, but still. I have been battling with having her as MOH or not. Prior to our fight, she was super excited and totally into doing wedding stuff. It was great because I haven't had anyone else, including family, who was really excited about it. And prior to our fight, she was going to be MOH and she kind of knew it/assumed it, even though I hadn't asked. I plan on including a personal note in her BM card explaining all of this and talking about how I want us to just go back to normal....I just feel like I hear tons of horror stories from other brides on TK talking about how they picked their BM or MOH in hopes to repair their friendship and it turned out horribly. I am not really trying to repair our friendship with it....but I am just worried we may fight again or something and I just don't really want to deal with drama, should it arise. I also don't really know how she feels about the situation....she may still totally hate my guts and not want anything to do with me....or maybe I am looking way to far into it and she is really over it and I am the one dwelling in the past...idk. GAHHH! Opinions?

2.Thanks! I was thinking something along these lines....but the way you put it, makes more sense!

    Checks:
    1.  Picked out FI's, all of the GM's, FOB, and RB's tuxes.  We used our coupon for the wedding show so we get to keep FI's tux--he is super happy about this because it will be a much better fit than renting one.
    2.  Picked out an adorable (at least in my opinion Smile) flower girl dress.  I refused to pay big bucks to get one from the bridal store, and actually ended up getting it at JC Penney.  With a sale and my mom's coupon, we got it for 50 bucks :)  Score since FI and I decided to pay for flower girl and ring bearer's attire since their parents are BMs/GMs so they had to shell out for tuxes/dresses.

    Still Need to Work On:
We are going to our venue this week to take some more pictures and figure out the layout.  And we need to finish our homework for the priest before we go back to meet with him on the 19th--eek!

    Need Help With:
Nothing at the moment, but I'm sure I will come up with something soon :)

    Checks:
Booked our wedding night at the Alexis Hotel!  Someone here recommended it, and it was pretty afforable (so, thanks!)

Rented a convertible for our hawaiian honeymoon (small check, but exciting nonetheless)

    Checks In-Progress:
This weekend FI and I tried out a couple cupcake flavors at Cupcake Royale. Our favorites were salted caramel and red velvet (totally opposite of wedding colors) - wondering if the "red" in red velvet could be dyed a "purple velvet???" I was surprised they didn't have an actual tasting event where we could ask these types of questions as we tasted, and we didn't even get to try the lemon, peppermint, or coconut, or classic.

We are meeting with our lighting vendor at the venue tonight.  He was originally our DJ, then dropped us due to a double booking by his assistant (?), despite the fact that we'd paid him the deposit already.  His prices are decent for lighting though so here's hoping he'll be a good vendor this time around!

I finalllllly finished designing our STD magnet on Friday and am anxiously waiting for the proof to arrive via snail mail so I can order the rest!

    Need Help:
-Rehearsal dinner venue + catering.  The venue we like only fits "60-70 guests for dinner" so I'm concered it will be crammed if we do have 70 (or more!) actually come.  It just seems like a gamble to commit to this venue with the caterer.  But the rental is only $100, it is on the water by Palisades, and the caterer we found is willing to do apps + dinner + dessert for ~$17/pp!   If anyone knows of a scenic, on-the-water-type of place for a low cost rental where you can bring outside catering & alcohol, suggestions welcome!

-I like the idea of semi-DIY invitiations and have heard from here and on the DIY board that you can get free paper through vistaprint...you just pay shipping.  But I just don't understand how this all works.  Wishing there was an easy "how-to" guide out there, with step-by-step instructions :)

    **Mgoss**

We are pretty clueless too, so a few people reccomended TJ's as they have a huge selection under $10.  (We went to the Redmond store because we were heading home from Woodinville, but I've heard this is pretty true for all TJ's.)  The man in the wine section was SUPER helpful, too.  We told him what we were looking for and he reccomended two:
-M. Chevallier Carte Noire Cava (at least that's what it says on the bottle lol).  I think this one was $6 a bottle.
-Trader Joe's Brand Brut.  I think this one was $5, but I can't remember.

I'll let you know what we think later when we try them!

    Checks:
I bought an awesome surprise for the wedding this weekend.  I can't really share it here because I have real-life friends that read this sometimes.  I made the modifications to the surprise that I wanted and I'm super excited about it.  I also worked on my personal vows, our music lists some more, got things organized, and finished some of the other lists I needed to get done.

    Checks in progress:
Thank you cards for some of the early gifts we got.  Mockups of the tablescapes that I keep putting off and should do tonight.  Finishing uploading and sending music lists to DJ.

Things I still need to do:
Checklists: things to take to rehearsal, things to take to wedding; finalize catering details and rental numbers, finalize cake information, finalize photo list, finalize timeline, print bar menu, print buffet menu, print question mark for our "Are you game?" sign, finalize seating, and finish escort cards.

    Help:
Not that I can think of right now.

    1. You ultimately know your friendship more than anyone else, so I would follow your gut. You definately shouldn't use this as something to repair your relationship, but if you think about who will stand by you on your and can't imagine it without her, then I would go for it. If you don't need her up there, I would just trust your gut. Maybe you should try testing the waters, so to speak, and see about setting up a time to hang out with her NWR and see how things go. It might be a great thing and you guys end up re-bonding and working out any issues, or you may end up fighting, or she may decline the offer altogether and then you would have a better idea of how to proceed.

    2. I'm glad my idea made sense. I was a little worried it wouldn't make it from brain to keyboard to post. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />

    Checks in progress:
FI talked to one of our coworkers who has a photog business on the side. She said she is willing to give us a really good deal. She started her business long ago because she was so tired of her friends and relatives being "ripped off" by other professional photographers who charge a fortune. She also said she never does her work "by the hour" it's just "the whole day." Love that.
Made 7 paper flowers....playing around with colors and patterns.
Finally made a bio!! There's barely anything on it...but at least it's finally published.
