I am trying to book a business trip for May. I have used the online tool to successfully book many trips for the past 4 years. I need to spend one night, mid-trip, in a different hotel because I have an 8am training course in our plant, 75-90 minutes from the hotel I normally stay at. (The office is 1/2 a mile from my normal hotel.) I only need to spend one day at the plant, and don't feel like getting up at 4:30 or 5 am to drive down and back int he same day. 

I have split trips before, but the damn online tool WILL NOT let me book a hotel for less than the full duration of the trip. 

I have been on hold with the travel company helpdesk for at least 10 minutes now.

the helpdesk guy couldn't do it either. I'm going to call them back next week and get them to make an adjustment on the hotel. I just booked my normal hotel for the full week, for the time being. 

at least i can lock in the airfare. I might decide to stay for 2 nights by the plant - it's close to the gulf, and i could go to the beach and the awesome local BBQ place after the training session rather than rushing back to Houston.
