Wedding Woes

No RSVP

I need help. There are several people on my fiance's side that have not sent back or gone online to RSVP.  His mother has said that the guest who have not responded are coming. I told her that they still need to RSVP. In a way I'm upset because they were given ample time to respond. Am I acting to harsh by asking that they RSVP in one of the manners that we provided for them?

If the date has passed it's time to call and verify  they aren't coming.
  • I think you should make a list of the people who have not RSVP'd from your side and from his.  Once the RSVP date passes, give him his list of people and tell him to start calling to find out if they're coming and you'll do that same with yours.

It's nothing to get upset about.  It happens all the time.  Just because you sent a formal invitation, does not mean that people are going to respond the way you want them to.
  • This isn't unusual. There always seem to be at least a few missing RSVPs when it comes to weddings.

Just call the people who haven't yet replied (as PP said, be sure to wait until after the RSVP deadline), and ascertain whether or not they will be attending.

  • Just give them a call. Hell, I've had to do that with my own brothers (who aren't for sure coming and have not called me back. I expect they probably won't bother)
