Wedding Woes

Target takes clearance returns, right?

I mean, for clearance pricing, obviously. I don't expect $25 back for a shirt I bought for $6.

I picked up two tops today, same brand, same size. One fits and looks cute. One is jacked up. Too small in the bust, but there's a ton of room in the back, and the waist is weird. Good thing it was the one I didn't like as much.

They'll probably just give you store credit, but I don't see why not.

As long as you have a reciept they should.  Of course, I don't know much about Target.

Most normal places do, but for some reason a lot of online stores have final clearances. Which - I can't try it on, and I'm not buying it for your ridiculous full price, so thanks, Torrid, for being useless.

You can print receipts online too.  Carrann didn't know what she was talking about, Target is awesome.

Target is usually pretty good with the returns. I don't think I've ever tried to return a clearance item, so I'm not entirely sure.

I still don't get why Carrann hated Target so much.

B/c they refused to honor a mistake which would made a like $400,000 carseat cost like $4 or something foolish like that.

Yeah, my only beef with Target is the constantly shrinking plus section, but I'm sure someone in Corporate thinks they're doing us a favor or something (because if there's no clothes, we'll HAVE to lose weight!), God only knows.

In all other departments, however, Target is the bomb.

That's right. I remember the carseat. That was a catastrophe for her.

whenever someone complained about the target wedding registry, carrann would always say that it sucked.  yes, because brides should be treated extra extra special.

Bmom.  I have noticed that.  Merona took over about 1/3 of the Plus section and then Maternity takes up another 1/4 of it, which means there is very little left.

*I'm not up for doing math right now so who cares?*

Huh. I have had trouble with returns at Target. If you don't have a receipt all they let you do is make an exchange for something in the same department as the original item. It was problematic when I was returning duplicate wedding gifts. We seriously didn't need anything else for our kitchen, and I had $50 that I could only use in that department.

Target's return policy is much more restrictive than it used to be, for sure.

But yes, they will take returns on a clearance item with a receipt within the stated return period.  They will NOT do a 2-week price adjustment on a clearance item that has been reduced in price.  I ended up re-buying the original item for less and returning, with receipt, the one that cost more.

To clarify, I didn't register at Target, I just had people buy me stuff from there.

You can return up to $75 worth of merchandise per 365 days with just your ID. It does not reset Jan. 1, it resets 365 days from the day you make the return. If you go over the $75, you can only exchange it for something from the same department (we generally don't let people do this at my store, so I'm not 100% on this). It doesn't matter what the item is, or what department its from, or even if it says it is only sold by Target, you still can't return it without a receipt for cash or anything. You'll get store credit for any no receipt return.

FWIW, Target donates a ton of merchandise to local Goodwills and other stores. Even if it's marked as a Target item, it still might have been sold elsewhere.

Clearance is the exact same as everything else; as long as you have your receipt (or card if you paid that way) you'll get what you paid for it back. The only time you wouldn't is if you don't have a receipt, and the price was reduced after you purchased it. For any no receipt return you will always get the lowest selling price over the previous 90 days.
