PMeg

The Zantac has been fantastic. For the first time in a week, I don't feel like my chest is going to explode.

You are a goddess. I haven't even had to bother with Tums. It's been smooth sailing so far today.

I asked the midwife how many Tums a day were bad and she told me 10 or more was getting excessive. So then I had to fess up that I was probably eating more and she looked at me with pity. No one mentioned I could take Zantac and it wasn't on my approved meds list. But she said the lower dose was fine. I just take it now if I get heartburn that comes back after the Tums or if I know what I'm eating will set it off. Oddly, drinking a lot water on some days gives me bad heartburn.

I heard Prilosec was no good when you're KU. Is that untrue?

I took it all throughout my pgncy, and my baby came out normal.  (Except for that third arm sticking out of the back of her head. )

    I don't mind a 3rd arm, so I'll give it a shot.

LS, I have a drug handbook for work I'll use to double check the pregnancy classifications of drugs or I'll take a look at www.safefetus.com.

PMeg - is it reverse-osmosis water? That tends to be acidic - I only drink bottled, and I get heartburn from it.

Well DH is out of town so I'm not able to get any medical advice from him. I figured I'd ask around.

YOUR DH IS THE ONE WHO TOLD YOU TO DRINK VINEGAR?

No no, it wasn't his suggestion. He thinks it's gross that I keep vinegar in the house, let alone would think to drink it.

The vinegar for heartburn was a suggestion from my old school Italian aunt. The ACV is good for gargling with honey and lemon when you have a sore throat. It is NOT good for heartburn, unless you want to puke. Lesson learned, and I will never listen to her, or the other homeopathic wackos that also thought it was a good idea, again.
