Sad day

I heard a thud on the patio door while I was upstairs.  When I came down I saw a dead mourning dove on my patio.  The mate was sitting next to the body, watching, waiting, mourning.  Then he hopped on top of her, flapped his wings and shook her body, trying in vain to wake her.  I lost it. 

Losing a mate....at least half of us will eventually go through it.  Hopefully later rather than sooner.   Everyone say a prayer or send up some good vibes today for the Wonderhusband.  It's been 6 months today.

That is sad, and I am still in disbelief that Ww is gone.   Gone.  Wow.

My cold, cold, cold, dead, black heart thinks that the husband morning dove was just getting one last hump in.

C'mon,people.   Ww was one of the least sappy people I know.   I don't believe that she would be participating in this sobfest.
