Wedding Woes

Movie Review: Silver Linings Playbook

Recommend.

It was dark and twisty and funny and incredibly well-acted all-around. It has a freaking 90 on Rotten Tomatoes, which never gives anything high ratings, so that says something.

Somehow it made me think but without being all overtly "I'm a dark and twisty movie. Let me manipulate you." There were some obvious things that were maybe not supposed to be super obvious, but certainly no more than 99% of the movies out there. Ending was pretty predictable, but that's cool.

My biggest complaint was that part of the plot was that Bradley Cooper's character was all buff (used to be not-so-buff, apparently), but he spent 99% of the movie in sweatshirts and a football jersey. John Ortiz took his shirt off, but they couldn't think of a reason for Bradley Cooper to do the same? Come on.

Chris Tucker has a fun/funny subplot, too.
