Things for the morning

1. Bailey's coffee creamer is ossum.

2. We didn't win the Powerball, but there were winning tickets out in MO and AZ.  Let's see if anyone doesn't show up in the next few days.  ;)

3. I love Bath and Body Works candy cane soap.  It seriously smells good enough to eat.

4. I'm hoping that some of my packages start showing up today from the stfuff I've ordered online.  Even though none of it is for me, I just love getting packages.  I can't wait until Christmas cards start showing up.

5. When I got home with DefConn yesterday, I got him some juice and a bowl of crackers to snack on.  He stood at the gate at the kitchen entrance and had a 10 min long screamfest and then whimpered for 10 min more because he wanted the whole box of crackers.  DH and I can both be stubborn, I think it may have multiplied in DefConn.

Re: Things for the morning

  • 1. there is not enough coffee on the island of Manhattan to get me through today.

    2. DD is on a new behavioral modification feeding schedule, yet we still have to get her to gain weight. I'm waiting on hearing back from her speech/feeding therapist and our pediatrician on their recommendations for a nutritionist.

    3. The more I think about it, the more I want to be a SAHM/Work Part time mom. I want to be home with my kid to do the carry over from her therapies and I want to be able to do my crafting stuff (that I could sell if I had time to make stock and energy to do the projects). Andplusalso I think her weight would go up if I was at home feeding her, seeing as how I'm the only one she consistently eats for.
  • 1. I can't wait for Christmas with my folks so I can give dad a bartending workout.  They had blueberry moonshine at Tday that was awesome.  DH picked up some strawberry stuff that was equally good.

    2. bummer

    3. Nada

    4. I've ordered so much recently I wouldn't even notice a missing package.

    5. hehehehheheh
  • 1. I just love some good old half & half.  Even whipping cream.  No milk...no powder.  No flavor...just bitter and smooth.  Like my soul.

    2. I told H I didn't want to win the lottery.  It only spells out doom.  Seriously.  I could handle a few million, but not UBER millions.  That would be fun until your life was taken over with stupidity.

    3. I have been loving bar soap.  Goat Milk Soaps has some of the softest non-drying soaps out there. And at a steal price!  I still have bottles of Philosophy soap I need to use.  Urgh.  I need to ship this stuff to someone.

    4. I have yet to start shopping.  Meh.

    5. Poor kid.  He wanted crackers.

to you miss Dixie: I can understand your desire to stay home.  It makes 100% sense to me.  It would be wonderful if that were an option.

  • 1-I want coffee and creamer.  I'm settling for Mr. Pibb because work's coffee is awful and I'm hoping caffine helps my head.

And I'm feeling the 'part time work' vibe myself now.  Have been for a while.  I don't see it happening here.

I regularly hand Buffy the bag o' goldfish because I don't care if she eats the whole bag--it's kinda sad when my response is always "yay, food is passing her lips"

And speaking of, My child is in an amazingly annoying "I can do it myself" phase.  We had an epic meltdown last night because I refused to take her back outside, put her back into the car and let her undo the seat-belt herself (which, FTR, she can't undo herself).
Today she escaped and ran down FIL's porch steps, then walked up them herself because, damnit, she was upset I had carried her up them.

I'm struggling to find the line between 'independence is good and understandable' and "FFS, stopit.  I'm not putting up w/ this crap--just accept I got your gummy vitamin out, I'm not putting it back into the bottle for you to get it out yourself"

I'm afraid I"ve been leaning to much to problem #1.  It's a PITA no matter how you cut it.
  • BTW MrsConn - that is the best mental image of DefCon. I'm picturing him in that scene from The Graduate with the glass pounding in the church.

LOL!  He was actually standing at the gate reaching his arms toward the box on the counter, which was across the kitchen.  It was pretty pathetic.

And GBCK, my kid would eat a bag of goldfish a night if I let him.  He has no eating issues, LOL.  :)
  • I have been working very very hard to quash the "zomgs, she's not eating enough!" daemons--I can only accomplish it by saying "okay, if it's not absolute crap, give her what she wants for food"
Goldfish crackers are on the 'not absolute crap' list...and she's never eaten more than a handful at a time.
Maybe I should forbid them to make them better :-P
