Just wondering if anyone on here has used the Tracy Castle for the venue? We decided on this location but all the reviews are awful!! Its such a beautiful venue just curious how others experiences have been....I almost suspect the reviews being from disgruntled employee (s).
Re: Wedding at Tracy Castle??
I have heard much better things about them, but they don't offer an all inclusive package..
I just had my wedding here at the Castle last month. It was more than we could have ever hoped for. Allison, thier wedding coordinator is amazing. She gave such great advice and assistance from beginning to end. Our wedding day was so relaxing and enjoyable and our guests are still talking about how wonderful the staff and castle was.
I know the castle is under new management this year. I didn't trust any reviews online either and I certaintly wouldn't trust the one advertising for the Thornewood Castle. If you are looking for a place to experience the least amount of stress as possible and have the opportunity to work with wonderful staff who take a personal interest in your wedding, (Trust me, I know) then the Tracy Castle is a wonderful choice!
We were really hoping Tracy Castle would work for us. Impressed with the grounds (except the dance floor, I hated it, my fiance didn't care), but the experience of the tour was a bit offputting. We were supposed to meet with the coordinator, didn't find out 'til we got there he wasn't going to be there and instead the chef was going to show us around. She was nice and relatively well informed. I got to asking questions about cost, since she was quoting things differently than advertised. She went to build us an estimate, had trouble with the system, called in someone else (big, loud, burly man, I think it was Bart) to help. All of a sudden it turned into a used-car-sales pitch. The whole tone of the room changed, became very smarmy. He strongly urged us to just put down $1500 deposit and "we'll work out the contract later." Fiance had to get firm with the guy, so he left to go print out our estimate (allegedly) from his own computer, but never returned, shouted across the building that they'd have to email it to us later. That turned us off pretty quick. They said they'd email us the estimate that afternoon so we could look over it, but we never heard from them again.
If you do go with them, be careful, ask for everything in writing, and read everything before you sign it. I've heard good things and very bad things. We saw the tip of the "very bad" iceburg, I think, so I'd warn people away from them. There are plenty of other places just as lovely within a budget where you don't run the risk of bait and switch.
