On the way to the downtown area we stopped at the stratosphere tower where, after a long wait in line and a security check, we rode an elevator to the top of the tower. This was the highest point in Las Vegas and you could see for miles. After the tower, we went down to the old downtown area of Las Vegas. There we got free Mardi gras beads from casino workers. There was a canopy over the main street with over a million lights in it. We sat on the ground and watched the light show that came on every hour. After that we rode back into the hotel and casino area passing many wedding chapels.
In the Palms casino there was a hardwood floor unlike the other casinos. It was a little further than the others so we took a taxi to it. In it we shopped for souvenirs and got tarot cards read by a psychic. She told us our past, our present, and our future.
We got the chance to ask her a question, and also found out what the universe wanted us to know. She said that in Bill’s past he was happy and that there were good times, which was true. She said that in Bill’s present he was feeling stressed or drained, which was true because on the trip we stayed out late at night and got up early in the day. She said that for Bill’s present that he would be very happy and makes a lot of money. She said that this card probably related to a new job, but in the new job he would have to work his way back up from the bottom. The universes card for Bill said that he should not let others control him and not to listen to others that try to speak against his will.
For Kelly’s past she said that she was on a path that she thought was right and that she thought would bring happiness but it turned out not to be not what she expected, which is true about a past relationship for her. For Kelly’s present she said that she might try to take on too much at once and this is true because she wants to go to school, bowl for school, bowl junior league, and work both of her jobs as well as keeping her relationship with Bill. For Kelly’s future she said that she would be very happy. For Kelly’s universe card she said that she had a lot of goals that have not been completed that she still wants to achieve, which is true because she wants further her education, get a good job and be married to Bill. The MGM Grand casino and hotel was a greenish building with bright green lights at night. There was a display of two real lions. The lions were so calm some people believed they weren’t real. We spent some time in the casino and then ate lunch at the rainforest café.
While we waited for our food and while we ate it stormed twice in the café. There was fake lighting and thunder and even a misty rain and all the animals made noises and monkeys were swinging from the trees. For an appetizer we had mozzarella sticks. Bill had a rainforest burger with fries and Kelly had chicken fried steak with some vegetables and garlic potatoes.
On the way to the New York, New York hotel and casino we stopped at the coke store and at the M&M’s store. There was tall skyscraper looking buildings just like in New York. There was a statue of liberty and two boats in memory of the people who died in 9/11. Inside we went to the Coyote Ugly bar where Kelly bought a shirt and we got non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris.
The Venetia hotel was a pink and white, it reminded Kelly of a building at Disney world at Epcot. Inside we went to a wax museum. The wax figures were very real looking and we even had trouble recognizing which people were real people and fake people. There were wax presidents, actors and actress, singers and sports heroes.
While we were there we stood in front of the wax figure of Elvis and Pricilla’s priest and pretended we were getting married. We took a taxi to the hard rock café and shopped in the gift shop. Bill purchased a tee shirt there. Out side the café Bill and Kelly wanted to get there picture outside near the guitar as Bill jumped down Kelly decided to do the same and on the second day she twisted her ankle and she was in a lot of pain the rest of the trip. Then we walked over to the Hard Rock casino. After the casino we went back to Bally’s and had pizza at Sbarro’s. We were going to go to the Eiffel tower that night but we all were very tired after the day’s activities and decided to go up to our rooms and sleep.
The Excalibur was in the form of a Castle. It was tan with Red and Blue toppings.
Inside we got out pictures talking with two knights and a purple dragon. Kelly’s grandmother got us all tickets to see Tournament of King’s show at night. This hotel was more geared toward kids as it had an arcade below the casino where Bill won Kelly a white tiger playing one of the games. Near the arcade there was also a 3d ride called smash factory where it made it seem like you were riding through a dangerous factory. There was also a shopping area with many different stores. We looked in one shop with medieval dresses and swords. We had our pictures taken with medieval clothes on. Kelly wore a red dress with gold stitching and a gold crown and held a red rose. Bill wore a red and gold outfit with gold lions on it and a gold crown and was holding a sword.
(I'd like to point out that they posted pictures of this, yet had to describe exactly what the outfits in the pictures looked like) We got our picture drawn together by a caricature artist.
While we were waiting in line for the Tournament of King’s show we had our pictures taken and morphed together to see what our future children would look like. Everyone sat in a country’s section. We sat in France’s section and our king was dressed in blue and rode a brown horse. We drank a bowl of tomato soup, even Kelly who didn’t really like it. We had Pepsi to drink and we were then served dinner as the show started. Dinner consisted of broccoli, potato wedges, a dinner roll, and a small chicken. We were unable to use any forks or knives and ate with our fingers. For dessert we had apple cinnamon rolls. We had our picture taken there also. In the show King Arthur invited the kings of different countries to participate in a jousting tournament. All went well until Mordred and his Dragon Knight’s attacked. Mordred shot fire at the knights and King Arthur, and we could feel the heat from it all the way in the fourth row up where we sat. In the show the Dragon Knights killed King Arthur and his son Christopher later fought and defeated Mordred and his Dragon Knights along with the help of Merlin. At the end of the show Christopher was crowned king. It was a very fun and enjoyable show.
Mirage hotel had a water fall outside and during the night hours every 15 minutes it would become a volcano. There was bright red, yellow and orange color light with fire making the whole island caught on fire.
It was a tall gold building. When you walk in to the hotel we entered a rainforest there were a lot of trees and flowers and waterfalls inside. There was an exhibit of dolphins outside, we went on a tour and they explain the ways to tell if the dolphins are male or female. During the tour the tour guide showed us a video on how one of the dolphins that is living there was born. They didn’t but any kind of shows on or anything because they need for the dolphins being there was for educational reasons.
We saw a white tiger. The tiger was white with black strips with beautiful blue eyes. As we stood by the glass he walked right up in front of us so we could see a good view of him. He passed back and for until he lied down in the water.
White tiger was the mascot of the Mirage all the bullet board had the white tiger and Siegfried and Roy.
