Wedding Woes

weekend?

saturday I wasn't feeling well, so we just hung out at home.

sunday we had a great day - drove up to NY for the Pens/Islanders game. Pens won and I got to see Crosby score #50 and #51 - it was close at the end, and went to OT so a lot of fun. I was surprised at how nice the Islander fans were, as our experience in NYC wasn't as good.

today, we have the contractors out and they're painting. I'm not sure how much they'll get done today, but I'm hoping they finish this week. I really want to get moving to get the house on the market.

Re: weekend?

  • Saturday I went to Ikea, and then to our friends kids birthday party.  It was a fun, but exhausting, day.
Sunday, I didn't do much of anything until the evening, when I went over to my moms for fajitas.   I super pink puffy <3 fajitas.
  • My weekend was great.

Friday: I went to a gtg with my fitness group. Our leader was wonderful, and has a BAD house. She went all out and we had a spa party. It was so relaxing, and the food was so good. Healthy, but tasty.

Sat: We had our final weigh in, and our group of 9 ladies lost a total of 75 lbs. YAY! Of course there was a male group that lost over 200. You know how those men do. Don't we hate them?

Anyway, I broke a board. Yes, a wood board with my weak self. I love symbols, and we all broke a board to show ourselves that we can break through our barriers that are holding us back. It was very powerful.

You know, my church has been doing this fitness challenge for three years, and I've talked myself out of being involved for three years. Ha.

God put someone in my life to give me that final push that I needed this year, and I am so thankful. I've been trying to win this battle for years on my own, and this time is different. I'm different. I'm so excited about 2010.

So, if you have a barrier in your life that is holding you back, this is the year to get it behind you. You can do it!!!!

  • On Easter Sunday, we bought new light fixtures and faucets.  So we spent the weekend working on home improvement.

Friday- We went out to dinner and then went to Lowe's to exchange some stuff. We put in a new kitchen faucet and I am in LOVE with it.  It's a high gooseneck.  It looks so much better than the stock faucet that was put in by the builder.

Saturday-We went to Home Depot. and Lowe's to do some more exchaging and buying different stuff.  When we got home, we hung two new fixtures in the kitchen, one in the entryway, and a new ceiling fan in the family room.  We also put in one of the new bathroom faucets.

Sunday-We cleaned house and then my sister came over and we went shopping for a dress for me to wear to a benefit I'm going to in two weeks.  When I got home, my dad and the kiddo were there.  My mom showed up about an hour later.  DH and I hung our new outdoor lanterns.  We had dinner and then my neighbors came over for a little bit to hang out.

It was a busy weekend, but I feel so accomplished.  I love the look of all our new stuff.  And the kiddo is home.  We missed him a lot, but he had a blast in TX with my mom and grandparents.

    Booooo.

My weekend was a little odd.  Yesterday, I was playing with DD in the playroom when I heard reggae.  I called to DH (who was on his laptop in the family room, maybe about 40 feet away) "What are you listening to?"  He said it wasn't him.

A few minutes later, I got up to get something and could have sworn I smelled pot.  I thought maybe it was my imagination from the reggae, so I called DH over.  No, I wasn't crazy:  reggae was blaring from one of the houses across the street, and it reeked of reefer.  I was like, "Have I lost track of the days?  Is it 4/20 already?"  Nothing like this has happened in the six years we've been living there, so we were both all kinds of WTF.  It went on for a while, I took DD to the store, and when we returned it had stopped.

And DD finally figured out how to crawl forward, sort of.  She can go in reverse and turn, but forward was frustrating her.  Yesterday she managed to sort of half-push, half-drag herself forward.  It's not pretty, but it works.

At the hockey game yesterday, there was a group of guys who cheered "420!!!" everytime the clock hit 4:20 - except overtime - then it was "EXTRA 420!!!"
  • We worked our asses off this weekend since the house is going on the market tomorrow (!!!!!).

I had a yard sale, made a whopping 107.00 and got rid of a ton of crap, H did yard work and I helped a little.

Yesterday I did lillte things inside since the realtor is taking pics today and H did more outside work.

That was about it. Boring, but productive
