Delicious Food

Please share your awesome caterer, who has awesome food, for a fabulous price!  Are you doing appetizers, buffet vs. sit down?  Feel free to post a pic of your favorite part of the menu! :-)

Can you tell I'm hungry and that I need help deciding on a general menu and caterer?

TIA

We are using Brown's Catering. Their food is FANTASTIC!!! Prob best food I have ever had. We are doing Salmon and Roast Beef with garlic mash and seasonal veggies, ceasar salad, a fruit platter and three diff flavored meatballs for apps. But they have a HUGEEE variety of foods.

Also, they are all inclusive so they provide all linens in many diff colors and all dinnerware, which can save you a ton! They don't charge any additional fees except food!

Also, if you book at the time of your consultation, they will give you practically a 50% discount, so go prepared with deposit, $1000, if you wanted to try them. I thought their prices were great. If you want to know the actual you can PM me, just don't want to advertise it. haha.

We're using Chef Bert.  He's similar to Brown's in that he's all inclusive except for the linens (tablecloth & napkins) but his price for linen rental was very fair.  For a tasting he actually comes to your place and cooks in your kitchen and sets your table for you, your FI and up to 4 other people to try the menu you want to try.  I normally don't like salmon, but I loved his.  Our menu is:

    Apps (cocktail hour):
    Cocktail shrimp
    BBQ meatballs
    Caprese salad skewers

    Dinner:
Spring salad with berries, candied walnuts, raspberry vinagrette
    Grilled salmon with dill butter
Grilled chicken marinated in garlic, lemon, and parsley vinagrette (special request by us)
Pasta primavera with bow tie pasta, garlic, olive oil, fresh tomatoes and julienne veggies
    Fresh fruit display
    Bread & butter

You could also look into Barry's Catering who Jennyann is using.  They're pretty affordable as well and we're using them for the RD.

Using Seasoned in Seattle.  I really like them, very laid back and friendly.  They are not all-inclusive, but food plus drinks, labor and dishes was less than we were quoted by Brown's.

We're doing like a carribean theme, with jerk chicken, gumbo, tequila lime shrimp, etc.  Hoping we can still afford to do the blackened salmon.  But they have a little of everything.

    And I am hungry!

We're using Pyramid Catering. He seemed to have really good prices, and a lot of good reviews on the bio. He also had a menu that fit our theme so that made things easy (looking at giant catering menus and trying to figure out what we wanted to serve was like PULLING TEETH. So glad to be done with it). His prices are pretty reasonable, and if your rentals are in a very standard color he does them for pretty cheap. He also seems to have lower staff costs than everybody, and he didn't charge a premium for serving more than 1 entree (he's even doing an extra entree for vegetarians at no charge!)

I'm using Barry's Catering (like Tygirl said).  Their food is delicious, and almost everything is made from scratch (which is actually pretty hard to find).  It's a husband/wife run business, and they are very easy to work with & will do pretty much anything you want!  The thing I liked the most about them, is that their prices include everything (including labor, which many cateres wanted to DOUBLE the per person price for).  They don't have minimums, and are willing to work with your budget.
We're both Italian, so we're having Italian food.  Yum!

I am using O'Sheas catering.  They seem to be a little on the pricier side, but there food and servers are the best.  Not to mention they are just as anal as I am when it comes to perfection!

Mmmm....O'Sheas.....when I worked in Tacoma (years ago) they had a booth at the Tacoma Farmer's Market.  They had the best food in the whole market!  I still crave their broccoli salad!

Were using Renton Technical, they have the best prices and since they are students I always think they try way harder with presentation, etc... Their food is REALLY good too, I have had it at several events and it’s always been just as good if not better than most of the expensive caterers in the area.

This made me even more hungry! :-)  Now I want some panda express and some halibut.  Thanks for sharing everyone.  An all-inclusive option sounds like it might be a good fit.  I'm happy to see that we should be able to get more than one protein option within our budget.  Now I've got a lot of leads to look at...
