Weddings wedding weddings why the need to be so difficult

I'm just venting so you can say what you like but damn why do weddings have to be so difficult for people?! It's such a touchy subject apparently!! People expect them to be invited to your wedding when you barely talk to them, they invite themselves to be  a part of your entourage because they feel entitled to, people's good and bad traits come out during the planning of a wedding.. WTF!? I don't get why people can't just mind their own business and let the bride and groom do as they please since the bride and groom are paying for everything. The MIL, the SIL, the family should not have any say whatsoever and yet they still feel like they do. People just need to chill and relax. Then I think maybe they are just control freaks and since the spotlight isn't on them they need to find a way to stir up the pot. Mind your biznatch and just let people be. Thank you I am done.

my thoughts exactly.

I've come to accept that everyone has an opinion because they are so excited for me and my fi. Once you realize that most people aren't trying to be pushy, they're trying to be helpful, it's a lot easier.

But that doesn't mean you have to take their advice/input/whatever

I hear you, my future SIL, who I have met about 4 times, has never been nice to me, nor has she ever shown an interest in being my friend or getting to know me.  A few months ago my FI and I were talking and even he said how stand-off-ish his sister acts around me and how strange it is because we have a lot in common so you would think we would be friends.  We got engaged at Christmas at now both she and my FMIL are not talking to me because I have not asked her to be in my wedding party.  Though I did ask her to do a reading.  Apparently, this is not good enough.  People are selfish even on a day that is specifically not about them.  Good luck to you!

Thanks ladies! And yes I have talked to his family about this but still nothing! Still in the business like it's their wedding. But FMBS I totally feel you that's exactly how my fiance's sister is, but you know what do you and if that's how she wants to be let it be and let nature take it's course. I was so worried before but not anymore cuz you can't please everyone and everyone won't be able to please you. Good luck to you as well!!
