Why not organic?  I tend to buy organic for things she eats the most - milk, bananas, fruits, etc.  She doesn't get organic at school and I don't serve a fully organic meal at home every day.  I just feel like maybe I'm doing a little bit of good if she's drinking organic milk with her Kraft Mac N Cheese and hot dog, you know?

Btw - Annie's organic mac/cheese is not so tasty.  DD likes it, but she hasn't had a lifetime of Kraft love.

They only have 2 children.  Age 12 and 14.  SIL drinks milk like crazy.

Good gravy 9 gallons!  I'd be rationing that crap.

DG- another idea.  eggs are cheap.  Scramble a couple and cook in the microwave.  You can slap it on a piece of bread with cheese if you want portable.  Mini quiches are also cheap, healthy, portable, and freezeable.

A multigrain waffle with some peanut butter isn't a bad option either.

DG - you might want to consider getting a chest freezer and buying/cooking in bulk. we save a lot by doing that, an it's healthier than processed crap in a can.

(plus it's nice to be able to come home, heat up dinner, maybe make a side or cut up some veggies, and be ready to eat in 15-20 minutes.)

Gah, we do about 3 gallons of week between DH and The Boy. I'd die if we drank 9. Milk is so freaking expensive right now. I think Costco has it for $5 for two gallon packs, and that is the cheapest I've seen around here.

Check out health food stores (not Whole Foods). We get all of our product at a local chain of stores. I think bananas are about $.29/lb, I can get red peppers for 2/$1, and The Boy loves the Earth's Best fruit smoothie pouches and they run about $1.20 there. It's way cheaper for us to buy most of our produce there.

Smoothies would be another good breakfast.  one carton yogurt, whatever fruit is cheap or frozen and some V8 V fusion- fruit, veg, and good protein.

If I listed out what having a baby did to my body and provided some pictures, I'm pretty sure I could convince ampitheatres full of women to permanently sterilize themselves. Why they don't show this stuff in sex ed classes, I'll never know.

I'd have more kids in a heart beat, and I knew my body was going to look like a busted up tire after it was over. But if you are telling someone that they should wait to have kids...well, one look at my nips will end any idea a teenage couple had about having unprotected sex. Similarly, if you are on the fence...let me tell you about my vagina.

Can you tell me what mechanisms Silicon Valley has that allows regular people to buy overpriced homes? As far as I know we just have to take out wayfuckingbigger mortgages than people in low COL areas.
IDK. Another college friend bought a $600k house in Menlo Park a few years ago (2br, 1 ba) But apparently they have special rules in california where you only have to put 5% down or something, because otherwise normal people could never even enter the market.
    Posted by DG1
When was this? 5% down might have been possible before the market collapse, but there's no way in hell a lender would allow that out here now. And 600K in Menlo Park? Was it a forclosure?

We will probably have to put 30-40% down just to qualify for a loan, and then our mortgage payment will still be about 50% of take-home.

No PowerPoint unfortunately. TMI Here's the sad state of my body: my stomach looks like a melted candle. My skin did not bounce back, and the resulting weight loss in that area has left it a little flabby. My vagina is not quite as tight, and I base this on the fact that I actually used a light tampon one day and it fell out. My boobs are only perky when wear a bra, and that is mostly because all that tissues just piled in there being held up. That said, worth it. Totally would do it again, just wish I was mega rich and could have one of those Mommy Makeover plastic surgery sessions. And there you have it.
