I guess because it you're doing it on paper, it'd require carrying numbers?  Am I the only one who counts up?  i.e. add 3 to get $.60, around $.40 to get to $7 then add $3 for the 10, so you have $3.43?

I'm not sure how to explain how my mind works, but that's hardly a measure of managing funds.  Passing first grade math or possibly balancing a checkbook, but not exactly everything you need to manage a household.

Long division IS rocket surgery, as far as I'm concerned. H and I got in a fight the other day because he was trying to explain math to me and I wasn't having it. I know I'm a moron; please don't rub it in by continuing to point it out after I asked you not to. <div>

I freak out about doing math in my head when someone else is watching.  I'm great at it when it when I'm just thinking to myself, but if someone is staring at me wating for change my brain goes dead.
