I'm not getting my dress back til 3 days before the wedding day!? :(

I went to the seamstress over the weekend for my fitting… she did a great job! She hemmed it, bustled it, took it in (3 inches from both sides)..now the dress fits like a glove! Hehee… however she still kept it. She is steaming it and going to press it… and I wont pick up my dress til 3 days before the wedding… ugh… I miss my dress… now I’m kinda getting anxious…what if they mess up the dress and then I will only have 3 days to find another dress til the wedding? I know, I’m just panicking… when are you getting your dress back from your fitting?

leave it at the seamstresss until right before the wedding... it will be fine.you want it pressed right before since then it will lbe really fresh.
don't worry.... it will be fine, you will be georous!
my friend just picked her's up today, she is leaving tomorrow for the D.R. for a destination wedding.
i will keep mine at the shop until the thursday before i get married....

I think picking it up the week of is pretty normal at higher end boutiques, so you will be fine! 

But, your post got me thinking...I got my dress in October, it came in last month, and they want me to do my FIRST alteration the first week in June (I'm getting married on June 30th)—they said they want to do alterations as close to the wedding as possible so it can fit perfectly...it made sense when she told me, but now I seem to be stressing. What do you all think, am I cutting it too close???

i am not sure. the begining of june sounds late.... i would call them and double check. last night i was told 8 weeks.. with approx. 3 fittings. but give them a call see what they say!

That is pretty close! I guess, it depends on how many alteration and how complicated your alterations will be. I had my first fitting back in March (seamstress told me to bring dress in 2 months before the wedding)... I went back  a month later (last weekend). Since everything was great and I didnt need any other alterations, she kept it til the week of the wedding. First week of June would be too close , maybe try to get an appointment in middle of May or end of May...

I'm using the same seamstress as NCV2 and I won't be picking my dress up until 2 or 3 days before the wedding...but she is steaming it which would be a waste if it was done too early.
