Wedding Woes

Amazon Prime

Tell me the benefits besides free shipping? I  am too lazy to investigate on my own.

    Supposedly you can stream movies for free like Netflix but I did the free trial period and couldn't get it to work.  I don't order enough to justify the annual fee for just shipping.

    it's unlimited free two day shipping with no minimums -- sometimes it's even faster.  i've ordered things on monday afternoon and had them knock on my door on wednesday morning.

    I accidentally ordered it, considering the trial period just slipped away (not the first time for me) and oops....I have it for a year!  WHEEE?

    I order a few things, I figure if I order about 12 things a year, it will justify itself.  I'll make it work.

    Not just free shipping, free second day shipping.  If you want it next day, it's 3.99.

    I get a lot of baby stuff (and through amazon mom if I spend a certain amount a month my free Prime subscription gets extended by a month). But have also gotten gifts, stuff for my mom, TONS of stuff we needed at home, some of my herbal supplements.... The list goes on.

    It's the greatest thing EVAR. I regularly buy things for $5 or whatever, where I used to wait until I had $25 worth of stuff to get the free (slow) shipping.  Now, my amazon shopping is basically a no-brainer.

    I've bought:
    * peanut butter (a case!)
    * an IR repeater & extension cables
    * DVDs
    * various books
    * an iphone case
    * a humidifier
    * Dex's bedrail
    * a bathmat
    * a wireless presentation clicker
    * a meat tenderizer (like the one Alton Brown uses)
    * a computer printer
    * raffle tickets for a conference I was organizing
    * nametags for that conference
    * shitton of baby stuff - diapers, wipes, whatever. (I also get the Mom subscription. If you don't have reason to have baby stuff, you can make a pretend baby and get the 3-month free trial of Amazon Mom to try out Prime.)

    Anyway, I'm sure I wouldn't get the actual value out of paying for it (since I would just wait until I had $25 worth to buy and get free shipping) , but I might pay for it anyway, just because it makes everything so freaking easy.
