Wedding Woes

I'm dying.

Is it stupid to be considering uterine ablation? http://women.webmd.com/endometrial-ablation-16200

I'm so over this. I took two pills and a shot of vodka, and I'm still in pain. This is no way to live.

Nico, that's good to know. I've been doing some interwebz "research" (and I will speak with my doc), and it seems like everyone who's had it loves it.

I mean, my period is old enough to drink in a bar. It's enough already. Especially because we're obviously not having any more kids, even if we wanted to.

    Ugh!  Sorry BM

To be honest, when the time comes to sterilize one or the other of us, this might be high on my list of things to look into (would have to chat with the doc, though).  Might as well receive some perks of being sterile.

Although I wonder if you would still get cramping since the hormonal cycle is still intact (even if the uterus is shut down, so to speak)

I know someone who had it done in her late 20's, after she was done having kids, and she raves about. She says it's the best thing she's ever done for herself.

ETA: Nevermind! She had a hysterectomy. That's completely different, my bag.

It doesn't sterilize you, Dharma. You'd still have to have a ligation or be on BC of some sort.

The cramps thing is something I haven't really seen addressed, but if there's nothing to push out of the uterus, why would you cramp? It doesn't seem like the cramps would stick around - or at least, they wouldn't feel literally like labor. And at least I'd be able to leave the house and get some exercise, which does help, but is impossible with my level of bleeding.

Barf. It's just a bad month.

I asked my doc about this and he said no, not unless you had some other form of sterilization, because a fertilized egg can still try to implant but will end up someplace bad (on the edge of some ablated tissue, or in a tube), which is bad bad bad, of course.

Maybe I'll ask him again this time.  Periods are for people who still need/want to procreate, you know?

BMom, we can do this together. But in your state, because we do not have the sweet, sweet dispensaries that your state has.
