ceremony readings

has anyone thought about what readings they'll be using during their ceremony?  I am using "Love' by Roy Croft but would like another if I can find one.  We're not religious and I'm trying to avoid biblical passages if possible.  just wondering what anyone else had thought to use and if you care to share :)

Re: ceremony readings

  • Aw, that reading is beautiful, i just looked it up. i love the first two sections for sure! We getting married in a very natural setting (a huge field with the moutains in the background) and planting a tree (not sure if it'll be during or after the ceremony) in what till be our furtue backyard.

The trees in the storm dont try to stand up straight and tall (and erect). They allow themselves to bend and be blown with the wind. They understand the power of letting go... Those trees and those branches that try too hard to stand up strong and straight are the ones that break. (Now is not the time for you to be strong... or you too, will break.) Learn the power of the trees. Let it flow. Let it go. (That is the way you are going to make it through this storm). And that is the way you make it through the storms of life.

so stuff in the ( ) are being taken out. Taking out the 'and erect' because i know we have friends who will laugh lol.

  • Wow what a really nice poem. How sweet.
*i_everett* I like the one about the trees too.

I haven't thought about my readings yet. I will go with passages from the Bible for my catholic ceremony. But I may consider a poem for my programs if its allowed.
