LA Fitness or Planet Fitness

One is so much cheaper then the other, but one has a pool I could swim in. I hate LA fitness... but they have a pool. They are both equally convenient. Do you go to one? Do you like it? I'd be going to PF in Warminster or LA in Warrington. Usually I would just go on price... but a pooool!

Do you plan on taking any classes? Planet Fitness does not offer classes.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if I plan on taking classes, possibly. I just need to get in shape. None of my clothes fit me right.

H and I just got a membership at LA Fitness.  The cost really wasn't bad... at least not when compared to gym's we've been at in the past.  I haven't used the lap pool or joined a class, but the variety of workout equipment (cardio, nautalist and free weights) is impressive.

I go to LA mainly due to the classes.. I've worked out at PF with a friend who has the guest pass thing, and their cardio stuff is nice.  But since I like classes, I stick with LA.

I absolutely detest LA Fitness's business practices (bait and switch method and dishonest membership service people). BUT, they opened a brand new gym down the street from my house and I can't deny the convenience and the nice facilities.  So, I joined. haha.

THIS IS ME. I cursed a guy out, went to the manager, and pointed to the guy (he was watchign) and said he wasn't the reason I joined (about six months ago). But it's soooo close, soooo close!

Our sales guy was fine.  Although he mentioned scheduling our free training session a few times.  H and I were both like, "nah, we just want to work out".

I just joined LA and I don't think the price is bad at all.  I put $25 down and pay $39.99 a month and can cancel whenevs.  I LOVE the spin classes, which you can't do at Planet.

Hahaha I don't even know how many times I've argued with their management staff and even got as far as talking to a corporate VP.  Anyway, nothing's changed and they're still annoying to deal with.  I don't even know why I keep giving them my money... sigh...

If you plan on taking classes I would join LA Fitness.  I'm not a huge fan of the place but have been a member for almost 6 years and does have a lot to offer as far as classes which I need in order to stay motivated.  I used to go to the Warminster one and they had great spin classes and an awesome dance/step class on tuesday nights that is super popular and I would highly recommend it.

If you have  Future Fitness anywhere near you try them.  I looked at Planet Fitness and walked right out and I didn't like the feel I was getting from LA Fitness when they were trying to talk me into signing up.  Future Fitness is fantastic and you get monthly appointments with a trainer for a routine and monthly checkins with a nurse to track your progress all included in your membership.  You also get a boatload of free classes.
