Wedding Woes

I went and I have a story.

I got to the place 15 minutes early, and it was a good thing, too, because the receptionist who was supposed to call my interviewer was MIA. On her window was a sign that said, "For assistEnce, call ext ####."

I called ext. #### and it rang to the damn phone right in front of me on her desk.

It was then that my armpits started getting moist. Until that point, I was as cool as a cucumber. I kept calling that number, hoping that someone would walk by and answer it. Then I started shouting "HELLOOOOO" and hoping someone would hear me. But alas.

Finally I spotted a directory (that I may or may not have been supposed to see) and called my interviewer. She was like, "Let me guess. There's no receptionist? I'll be right down."

The actual interview went really well. I don't want to jinx it, but I think they (the supervisor and her manager) really liked me. They kept catching themselves and saying, "Well, you'll be working with... I mean... if you're hired, you'll be working with..."

So I have a good feeling about it. I should hear back next week.

Oh, and the receptionist was there when I left, and I saw that her name was (I schit you not) FUTURE LEADERS. Miss Missing Receptionist is clearly on her way to climbing that corporate ladder.

That sounds terrific, Myrtle!  What did you think about it, aside from whether or not they wanted you?  Did you get a good feeling about it, think you'd be happy there?

I think so, Kuus. I'd be sitting in front of a computer all day, but it's a casual place and they're pretty successful, so I think it'd be a good place to work.

Gah, I hope I get it. It's only a four minute drive from our new house, too.

Yes! It said it on her nameplate, and then on her name badge. Unless someone was playing a cruel (funny) joke on her.

So, is that, like, first name last name, or is Future Leaders her first name? I'm confused and intrigued.

But mostly I'm excited for you. ::Big Fat Job Offer Vibes::

It said "Future P. Leaders," Duckis. I'm so glad they threw the P in there, otherwise people would have been really confused.

    *winning!*

also, maybe the whole directory thing was a test - you know, see if you could figure out how to getin contact with the interviewer - you obviously passed, so you get to move on.

That's what H said, Barbie. I don't know if I give Ms. Leader that much credit.

    Yaaaayyy!!

I think that name would be better without the initials.  I picture her leading a team in the bathroom.
